Loved their drinks (the cocktails were lovely!) but was a bit bummed this time around by the lack of vegan options. We ended up grabbing food elsewhere, but still had a great evening. Hoping they add more plant-based choices next time. I'll definitely be back for those drinks!

Our server was great. Very attentive, friendly and helped us understand what the food experience would be like. The food was better than I expected. Kettner exchange has been around for a long time in San Diego. I was actually expecting an over priced, sub par food and service experience. But I was pleasantly surprised by the food and the aura. It was good. And leaving the restaurant around 9:45 pm was great energy. Super crowded, everyone was dressed up enjoying an evening out. Fun vibes and surprisingly excellent food.

The food was delicious - so inventive with a different spin on a few classic dishes. The tapas menu allowed us to try a lot of different dishes which was fun and yummy. Mandy, our server, did an excellent job of guiding us to order the right amounts of each dish, too, so we really had no leftovers!! We had a wonderful round table which made it easy to share and also to have a conversation. Service was attentive and friendly but not hovering! My only complaint was that the guests at the table closest to us over-indulged in alcohol and as more was consumed, the louder several guests at the table became. Their vocabulary was filled with cursing which became annoying and uncomfortable. Once they left, our experience returned to the outstanding experience we were hoping for!

Kettner Exchange - what a dinner! It was our first visit to San Diego and KEX made our list of places to visit. Highly recommend for those who have never been. Our waiters were absolutely fantastic- super knowledgeable and helpful with making our food selections. Here are the fan favorites from our meal: - Spicy tuna crispy rice: little circles of crispy rice, with a nori-covered avocado and tuna (LOVE the presentation and just as delicious) - Butternut squash dumplings: as expected and with a great flavor - Duck meatball: MASSIVE single meatball in a little skillet with grits and tons of sauce. The meatball was the perfect texture, consistency, and flavor which isn't the easiest feat. - Molten chocolate lava cake: ah-MAZING. The perfect consistency of melted chocolate, and how can you pass up a vanilla McFlurry ice cream!?! The answer is you shouldn't. Fantastic meal. Cannot wait for our next trip back!

Everyone's attitude felt like they did not want us there. I work in the service industry and if you show up an hour before you close you have take care of the customer and make them feel welcome.... The food was mediocre at best and lacked flavor. Mind you I came here on an empty stomach and was very hungry!

Everything we tried was superb! We did end up waiting almost 2 hours for the ribeye to be brought to our table, despite the menu stating, and our server telling us, it would be 1 hour. However, once it was served, it was indeed amazing. Save room for the dessert! You won't be disappointed.

Came for an anniversary dinner. The food was fantastic. But service was a bit slow. A single server for five to six tables was a stretch. Not her fault. Might have been short staffed. They did make it up with some courtesy. Which was appreciated. Definitely worth trying this restaurant.

A perfect dining experience! The menu is very innovative offering small plates. We had 5 dished -- there were to of us. Each dish was perfectly prepared with excellent presentation. The wait staff was exceptions, attentive but not breathing down our necks. May restaurants today are so loud that you cannot carry on a conversation. My wife and I were able to converse without issue. I would highly recommend KEX for any special occasion.
