Kilowatt Brewing Kearny Mesa

Kilowatt is great. It's been around a long time, and it's always been an enjoyable brewery to visit. They offer a wide variety of styles of beer. The ambiance is really fun. The staff has always been helpful and nice.

There is lots of parking behind the building and some parking on the street in front. They offer small bites that you can enjoy with your beer. The tasting room is suitable for all sizes of parties, and they are open late compared to other breweries in the area.

There is a speak easy attached that is pretty fun to visit when there is room. They just opened up a new room attached to the brewery. This brewery never misses a chance to be festive for any reason. Beer slushies are almost always on tap as well.

The staff is quite pleasant, and the ambiance is really laid back. Everything is excellent.

Playing board games and having drinks with some new pals, I spent hours there. If you'd like to take advantage of the sunshine, there's even a really great terrace outside.

Additionally, from what I've heard, they can host private parties if you're organizing a particular occasion.

I heartily suggest checking out this brewery, whether you're looking for a laid-back hangout or an unforgettable venue.

Dyakuyu! ?

A group of fellow musicians decided to go here after rehearsal last night. None of us had ever been. We got table in the tiki speakeasy lounge. What a cool place!! Loved the atmosphere. The drinks were great. And the food was outstanding. I had the pulled-pork sliders. Yum! Everyone loved their food. We will definitely be back!

Definitely an interesting brewery. The location is a bit odd, as it’s right on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. across from Zion Market—it’s hard to miss all the multicolored Christmas lights strung up outside.

They serve some very uniquely flavored beers, so be prepared for a bit of an adventure when you come here. They’ve also got some “brain-freeze shooters” made from alcoholic slushee flavors—they will definitely give you a brain freeze if you drink them too quickly.

Come to Kilowatt if you’re looking for something out of the ordinary and want to take a unique beer adventure. It’s not my favorite of all time, but it holds its own among the Kearny Mesa heavyweights.

Definitely make this a stop on your SD brew tour. We are OC residents and frequent SD visitors. Not only does this brewery do solid brews but they also have a cool “secret” tiki bar. Both are fun but due to the company in the tap house by beer slinger Keith we skipped the tiki bar all together in favor of hanging out it the tap room. Had the best time having a few beers there. If Keith is there sit yourself in the tap room and have him recommend some brews he’s good people!

Stopped by for a few tiki drinks and spam nachos. Fun little neon tiki vibe and good drinks.

Delicious local beer in a modern and colorful setting. Wide range of beers on tap available, friendly staff handing out precious advices. Free parking available at the back. Loved it!

Hidden gem for some of the best craft beer

Friendly service. We didn't have reservations for Forbidden Cove but we lucked out. A big party didn't show and we were able to get in. Great atmosphere, bartenders and drinks.

Been a while since here but it's only gotten better since my last visit (pre-pandemmy). Vibey spot, chill music fitting the mood & beer varieties. Will be back, of course. Outdoor patio thingy looks cool as hell.Mild flashing lights for those with sensitivity.

Try their macadamia nut stout, pineapple blonde and Smokey lager!

Fun brewpub. Beers were excellent. Great service. Great soundtrack. Poke menu available TFS 5:00pm to close.
