Best healthy breakfast option in the area. I liked the acai bowl and the avocado toasts. Went there on three separate mornings during my recent stay in SD.

I was really disappointed with the food quality and coffee here, especially given the high prices. I honestly don’t understand how this place has a 4.7 rating. I paid $14 for a “breakfast croissant,” and it was obvious they use Costco croissants—it looked flat and sad. I wish I had taken a photo to show how unappetizing it was. I also ordered a Salted Maple Cold Brew (paid $7.50), but it was almost impossible to taste any salted maple flavor. I usually only leave reviews when a place is either truly exceptional or really disappointing, and this one unfortunately falls into the latter category. I’m not giving it one star only because the sandwich and coffee were at least edible, but overall, this spot feels like a tourist trap and is not worth recommending. Find another place to go!

This review is way overdue. Excellent coffee - key - and small plates and sandwiches made and served by people who care. Been a regular here for years. Their coffee, food and friendly service is always reliable and never ceases to give me a lift! For example, I enjoy their salads, adding marinaded chicken with a Topo Cico and cortado on the side. Highly recommended!

This is my go to coffee place when I’m working. The banana mocha and charcoal mocha are highly recommended. I also tried the kale green smoothie and it is very very good. I tried the Viennese coffee hoping it would be as rich as the online descriptions and I would say I much preferred the banana mocha, unfortunately it’s not available anymore. If you happen to go in when it’s available again, I highly recommend it. All in all the coffee drinks and smoothies all look amazing. I’ve never tried the food because my breaks at work are too short but it looks amazing! Call in ahead of time with your order if you can. If not be prepared to wait a little. It’s worth it.

The avocado toast was amazing! The price was not bad, but I felt the value wasn’t the best (as I wanted more), but not bad priced for San Diego. I wish they had more drink options (soda), but I get why that wouldn’t be their focus.

I ordered a veggie panini and got a toasted sandwich with a single slice of tomato and single slice of cheese.
I also ordered a breakfast smoothie but It was more like a juice. The drink was blended with a lot of ice to give it the full appliance but it was noticeably water down. I could barely taste the banana, added protein, almond milk, and oats (I think that was all of the ingredients- im going off memory)
I was already at work when I went to eat my food so didnt have time to go back.
Maybe I'll try to go back again giving them the benefit of the doubt that this was not my veggie panini.

Food and service was great. They had a huge menu selection. I ultimately landed on getting the avo toast and added micro greens and an egg and it was delicious!
I would say the atmosphere is not the most cozy aesthetic, it feels like a typical city coffee shop just in and out and get some delicious food. But I gave it a five because there's a nice plaza like 50 feet from the coffee shop as a nice setting to relax and enjoy your coffee or avocado toast at.

Ron gave as an excellent service. Can’t say the same about the short Asian girl that was taking the orders. She was really NOT friendly at all and we felt like we were bothering her when taking the orders. Luckily, coffee was good. I recommend the place but I suggest talking with this girl.

Kuna cafe was a great experience, it's has a great atmosphere and gives off good vibes right when you walk in. The service was great and quick, food came out hot and fresh. I ordered the Kuma bowl and the açaí bowl smoothie. The kuma bowl looked amazing when it came out and was one of the freshest meals I have tasted. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and the veggies were so refreshing. The açaí smoothie also tasted wonderful. Definitely will be back

This place is a nice hidden gym from the other popular spots. The golden acai bowl is a 9/10 highly recommend.
