Sadly, we tried their products from Business Costco in San Jose and although the flavors were nice, we realized after that they use enriched flour. We need this country to stop using these artificial add ins. It's not good for us. We appreciate the attempt to have a clean product but if they could take it one step further it would probably get a 5-star. ❤️
Why I mention enriched flour...
Enriched wheat flour can be a source of certain nutrients, but it's generally not as healthy as whole wheat flour due to the removal of the bran and germ, which contain fiber and other beneficial nutrients. While enriched flour has some added vitamins and minerals, it doesn't replace the lost fiber and other nutrients, and it can lead to blood sugar spikes due to its rapid digestion.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
What it is:
Enriched flour is a refined grain where the bran and germ (outer layers of the wheat kernel) are removed, leaving only the endosperm.
Nutritional benefits:
Enriched flour is fortified with some lost nutrients, like iron and certain B vitamins.
Nutritional drawbacks:
The removal of the bran and germ means a significant loss of fiber, which is crucial for digestive health and blood sugar control.
Fiber's role:
Fiber helps regulate blood sugar levels, promotes fullness, and may reduce the risk of chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
Whole wheat as a better choice:
Whole wheat flour retains all parts of the wheat kernel, including the bran and germ, providing a more complete and nutritious option.
Moderation:
While enriched flour can be part of a balanced diet, it's important to limit its consumption and include more whole grains like whole wheat flour.
Their sourdough bread is amazing!
BEST OF THE BEST!!!!
The cro muffins take me back to Paris. Not too sweet. Not too salty and very fragrant butter. Simply delicious!!
I discovered their sourdough bread at Costco couple years ago and since then, it has become a staple at our house. It’s SO GOOD I eat a slice or two every morning with Irish butter, and as soon as I run out I go to Costco, lol. It’s the best sourdough bread and I always look forward to enjoying it with my coffee.
La Jolla Baking Co. is simply excellent! As someone who grew up in France, my standards for bakeries are high, and this place delivers. Their Brioche burger buns are soft, buttery, and perfect for any burger. The Cromuffins are an absolute delight – flaky, rich, and full of flavor. Hard to think a croissant could be improved, but they did!
If you're looking for high-quality baked goods with a personal touch, La Jolla Baking Co. is a gem worth checking out!
Have the yummiest sourdough bread!!! I tried it while out in CA , I’m bummed it isn’t sold in AZ cause we don’t have anything this good for sourdough here!

Can you please add more "Brioche French Toast" to Costco shelf? After I taste it I've been looking for it but I don't see it anymore at Costco...only sourdough and buns. I love It!!!
Thank you
Inah
The best sourdough bread ever!! This is on my weekly Costco shopping list! So glad the store in my area carries this, but wish they carried more of your products.
Thank you for making such a clean healthy bread for a reasonable price. Highly recommend this sourdough loaf ?
This is by far the best sourdough loaf in the greater San Diego area.

Beautiful manufacturing is going on. I really admired to open one
Their sourdough bread sold at Costco always has big gaping holes running through the top part of all the slices. So annoying! If you make toast and try to butter it, the butter just falls through this gaping hole, or the top part of the slice just breaks off. Also, trying to make a sandwich causes everything to fall through as well. It’s like making a sandwich with only a third of the slice.
Their bake at home sourdough rolls sold at Costco is not made correctly the rolls come out burnt on the outside and gummy in the middle.
Great wholesale bakery!
