We had an incredible server who took care of us from the very beginning. We had two children with us, and she was incredibly accommodating, even letting them try the meatball before we ordered it to make sure that they would like it. She suggested wines and brought us tastings. Where we were disappointed was in the food. We ordered the Barada and tomato appetizer. And the tomatoes were overly ripe and just tasted terrible. We ordered the market special in the pasta wheel which was not described properly so when the thick rolled pasta tubes came out that is not what we were expecting. Additionally we added chicken and it came extremely fatty with uncooked skin. We had to send the entire dish back. The server was so kind she tried to pick up the bill since we were so disappointed. but we would not allow her to do anything but take those two dishes off our bill. Again, exceptional service, but I'm not sure we would be back if it was just for the food and the ambience.
We've had friends recommend this restaurant to us for a while so we had high expectations. I think the Knight we tried it. They must've been very understaffed. We couldn't get help when we did. It was very rushed. They all seemed too busy to really take care of anybody. Three parties in our area. Had to go to the bar to pay the bill and get their drinks. Our drinks arrived when we were finished with dinner. The food was OK, but it would've been better if we had gotten pepper and Parmesan and the things we asked for upfront my review is poor that I do think this was a staffing issue. We will try it again, but we will pick up food to go. Also, the music was very loud rap that did not add to a calm ambience.
I'm really sad to leave this review because my family and I have been coming here since it first opened as The Farmer's Table years ago. Unfortunately, last night's experience was bad enough that we won't be returning. Despite there being no more than four tables occupied (including the patio), service was terrible. We sat for ages without any attention from the male server. Eventually, a woman server stepped in and was much more efficient, which we appreciated—but by then, the tone was already set. The food was also very disappointing. We ordered the pizza with sausage and potatoes, which I've had here before and loved. This time it was completely different: lukewarm at best, visually unappealing, and just not good. The arugula salad was fine, but nothing remarkable. Then came the check. We asked to pay separately, which has never been a problem before in all the years we've come. The male server refused and told us we could only do half and half. I was honestly floored. I didn't speak up at the time (wish I had!), but it felt unreasonably inflexible and unprofessional. We've supported this place for years, but this visit was such a letdown in both service and food that we just can't see ourselves coming back. I hope management takes this kind of feedback seriously and makes some changes.
Very surprised at the quality of the food and the presentation. Had the pistachio crusted Salmon with Risotto- excellent choice. Also enjoyed the ribeye with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The staff was very polite and attentive. Definitely will return to try the pastas. Always a good feeling when the owners and staff all speak Italian at an Italian Restraunt! Gratzi!
Overall a good experience The portion size on the chicken part was WOW ! A lot of yummy food Reasonable Love have them on the neighborhood!!! A must try!!!
We celebrated my son's HS graduation with 13 family and friends. The waiter was engaging and helpful with all our needs and questions. All of our party found their food and drinks to be wonderful. The parmesan wheel option was amazing as always.
This was my second visit, and this time I asked for a manager's recommendation—couldn't be happier! She chose some of the new menu items for us, was incredibly friendly, and served each table with a smile. The portions were generous and satisfying. I love that most of the staff are Italian, yet the place feels modern. It's clean and has a great vibe.
We had dinner on Thursday at 6 pm; it was quiet at first but got busier after 7 pm, which is nice for a weekday. There's plenty of parking in the plaza, too.

Hey mambo! Mambo Italiano, hey mambo! Who doesn't love Italian food!? Haters that's who. This restaurant took over a former brunch place that my wife and I went to a few years back, and boy are we glad they did.
The restaurant is located in a strip mall on Clairemont in the northeastern corner. There is a decent amount of parking space near the restaurant but the lot is quite big, so you should not have any problems finding parking.
The restaurant itself is well lit and decorated with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It has a fancy casual vibe to it, more casual on the patio. The chairs for the inside dining are a little springy, but still comfortable enough to sit in for over an hour.
We went around 4 PM on a weekday for happy hour during restaurant week and we were seated immediately. Service was fast and our server along with the wait staff were very attentive. We ordered from the restaurant week menu as well as their happy hour menu, which is 4-6pm daily, and ended up with more food than we could handle.
We were first served toasted bread with marinara, after that, our first course came out within 15 minutes. Our subsequent courses came out 20 to 30 minutes later.
The truffle fries were super crispy and had a good truffle oil and Parmesan flavor. The pizza pesto e prosciutto was piping hot and was delicious! The dough was light, chewy, and elastic. The pesto sauce and cheese was flavorful and the prosciutto was not too salty. I only wish that the crust was a little bit crispier on the bottom.
The calamari fritti was tender, lightly battered, and fried to perfection. It wasn't too salty or oily. My wife's salmone pistachio risotto was delicious. The salmon was moist and the risotto was creamy. The Rigatoni carbonara was perfectly cooked al dente and the sauce was so creamy and decadent. The Guanciale was very salty but balanced well with the sauce and pasta. Lastly for dessert we had a limoncello cheesecake which was good, it tasted store bought, but was still good enough to round out an amazing dinner.
For 6 items, we paid about $70 before tax and tip and we had enough leftovers for another meal. This is hands down one of the best value Italian restaurant in San Diego. We will be back!
