A high quality & great tasting Mexican Meal .. had the Chicken Chilaqilas, green sauce with over easy eggs cooked to perfection the seasoning is incredible. Highly recommend.

The burrito is on the small side, steak tasteless and rubbery, potatoes taste like they are microwaved. I got the breakfast burrito, it’s just okay. The salsa and tortilla are good, but it’s a little bland overall. If you don’t know good Mexican food this place is fine, if you actually love Mexican food this place is mediocre.

Very sweet people with amazing MX food! The machaca plate was great!
The cashier Liz was very welcoming and kind.
The cooks were loving and smiled at me and waved before making my food which let me know that the would be cooked with love. This is an awesome restaurant.

I came in and ordered 6 rolled tacos 2 soda bottles and paid . Left a 2$ tip on my $12 order. My food is ready to go. The guy says 4 rolled tacos. I correct him and question 6 tacos?? He says, "Oh yes, I mean 6 and hands me my food and sends me in my way. I get home to eat, and there are only 4 tacos. I am dissatisfied, especially since I asked him to double-check or confirm 6 tacos and that I left a large tip for the bill before receiving my food. Don't tip before you eat here or tip the second time you come in for the first time ypu get a to go order. Dissatisfied

I’ve been eating at La Perla from the beginning (Feldspar) and Guillermo. This place has the BEST burritos! King Kong, California, Machaca, Surf n Turf, Shrimp burrito - so many greats to choose from! This however, is a taco shop, so if you’re looking for specialty drinks, this is not it. But these are by far the best in Pacific Beach!

This place has gone super far down hill. King Kong burrito used to be my favorite in town. Last time I was there the place had a different vibe, like it's been purchased by some haoles. Burrito was a bit more bland and made me and my roomate sick.
Edit down because they're also not open at posted hours.

best taco shop in pb, friendly owners, love having it right down the street. King Kong burrito is the best burrito I’ve ever had in my life, chili relleno and carne asada

It pains me to say this, but La Perla has gone down hill over the past couple of years. This place has been my go-to for 8 years. The California burritos used to be amazing. I still love the al pastor, but the size is just not sufficient. I understand inflation, and the prices have also increased significantly, but it's super disappointing that they've also reduced the size of the burritos so much. In recent years, the size has decreased by almost half and more recently the flavor of the meat has not been what it used to be. I wish this place was still good because I don't have a good alternative nearby, but it's just average now.
Clearly they know how to make great burritos, but they just aren't anymore. Bring back the old La Perla!
