The service was absolutely INCREDIBLE! The sweet lady at the front took our order with such a genuine smile. The carne asada fries were easily 10/10. Such a nice place and I hope they stay for everyone else to experience it. So good

Amazing food. But can you update your hours please? Google says that you close at eight but it appears so you close earlier kind of confusing and sucks because you guys have the best Mexican around.

La Perlita in Mission Beach offers a culinary retreat for those looking to refuel after a sun-soaked day on the sand, with their Surf and Turf Burrito standing out as a popular choice among beach-goers and surf enthusiasts alike. This burrito combines the best of both worlds, offering a taste of the sea alongside hearty terrestrial fare, wrapped in a warm, soft tortilla. While the balance of flavors is commendable, a personal note is that a more generous serving of steak could elevate this dish to new heights, truly making it the epitome of surf and turf. Additionally, the experience could be further enhanced with more salsa provided on the side, adding that extra zing and customization to each bite. Despite these personal preferences, it remains a solid choice, providing a satisfying and convenient dining option that aligns well with the laid-back, beachside vibe of Mission Beach. Whether you're wrapping up a day of waves or just in the area, La Perlita's Surf and Turf Burrito is a good standard burrito worth considering, especially if you're in the mood to complement your beach day with a taste of local flavor.

The lady who took our order was kind. The cheese enchilada was ok, but the rest of the food we both ordered was not good. I’m from a small town in So Cal where I grew up with good Mexican food, I lived in Los Angeles and had excellent Mexican food. Try someplace else.

Lady at the front was really nice and we were excited to order based on the Yelp reviews. Unfortunately the food portions were very underwhelming and I feel somewhat cheated. For $12, the breakfast burritos were 40% tortilla, 40% potato, maybe 20% eggs, bacon etc. I'm not sure if it had any cheese or the sour cream we added. Don't be fooled by the pictures. Can't recommend going back unfortunately.
Place is fire. I have been in town for 2 days and have been twice. Me and a homie get the California burrito and carne asada burrito and split im half and share. Such a nice lady working the window. Gonna hit the huveos roncheros in the am and guessing they will be fuego as well. Dankness abounds.

Wow. I don't know if it's only in my head or what, but Mexican food is just so much better in San Diego; and this place is no exception. It's a small space that can accommodate maybe 10 people inside, so more of a grab and go situation. The menu is fairly standard aside from the Oaxacalifornia burrito. I've never seen this before and I am so happy I tried it. It's a carne asada California burrito with guac and pico de gallo. The kicker is that it's double wrapped with tortillas and in the middle is melted cheese. 10/10 would recommend.

Can't say how the food was. I tried placing an order online, my card app showed that I had a pending transaction, but no confirmation. When I called the store, they never received any online orders. So then I tried placing an order thru the phone, but she hung up on me. Oh well.
I always visit here on trips to SD. Service is great. First time trying refried beans and the pickled carrots. Tasty! And yesterday I had the pozole. Omg. Hot and spicy. Pork was juicy and tender. Definitely a stop.
Kid-friendliness: Great bean and cheese burritos for the non-adventurous kids!
