WOW!! I have never had my expectations blown away by a coffee place before. The food here (I got the blackberry nut muffin) IS THE BEST! I also got coffee, the brew was strong, the way I ordered, and the nut milk was very yummy. There is an array of items on the menu that could fill anyone's coffee and snack desires. I am so shocked by the prices too, so cheap for San Diego! I will come again.

I ordered a steak and egg burrito thinking I could just eat the filling since they had limited gluten free options. As I unwrapped the burrito, there was a second tortilla inside. The actual filling was probably less than 1 egg and 5 small squares of steak. Not worth it.

This is a coffee shop where you stand in line, order at the counter, if you want drip coffee the give you an empty cup and you serve yourself. No table service.
I normally have no problem with this, but here, when you go to pay, the default tip is 20%, no option to not tip. In order to avoid tipping (again for no service) you have to select “custom tip” and enter 0.00. I don’t get it.

I always spend time at Lani Coffee when I'm in San Diego. Excellent coffee and iced drinks, and the food is top notch. They can get busy, but it's worth the wait.

My one stop Hawaiian coffee shop when in San Diego. It serves the exact same coffee as Lion Coffee in Honolulu, the one on Kalani Street where you can also take a factory tour. Coffee is also available for purchase. It's self serve as the urns are in front. I either make a blend of the vanilla and macadamia flavors, or I get a 100% Kona which IMO is one of the best coffees in the world (Hawaii is the only American state to grow its own coffee. The more you know).
It's too bad that the store hours are limited; I remember when they used to be open until 8pm, and then until 6pm. So remember to stop in and get your cup of straight up authentic Hawaiian coffee. Mahalo nui loa.
honest good vibes at this place, which has been hard to find in this city. having a restroom available for customers was another welcome rare find. and before i forget, the açaí was great and all my body needed to continue exploring the city in this hot sunny day

Good coffee. Good Acai bowls. Great service. Staff can get overwhelmed sometimes on busy weekends but always a chill spot for coffee, a few blocks away from the gaslamp crowded areas.

Why would I tip if I have to pour my own coffee? Payment system forces you to tip something. Not cool
One of the few shops open at 6. Excellent food, good service and themed atmosphere. Very strong Hawaiian coffee.
