These people are not nice. I took my nephew here on New Year’s Day. We ordered and paid. After, I asked for a cup of water and the lady told me, “we don’t have tap water.” She literally said they didn’t have tap water and told me I would have to buy a bottle if I wanted water, which I did. My 15-year-old nephew asked to use the bathroom and she said it was broken. Knowing full well she was lying and being unkind to a kid no less, I told my nephew in front of her to just go in the corner of the parking lot. Well, her bathroom was suddenly, miraculously fixed and she passed my nephew a key. I do not understand how this woman thought it was appropriate to refuse tap water and a bathroom for paying customers. The food was not good enough to subject myself to this stingy unkindness so we will not be back.

Substandard food, tortilla soup is decent but served boiling hot in a flimsy plastic bowl with a plastic spoon and it was melting the plastic. I’m not looking to get cancer from PFAS, plastic isn’t supposed to get that hot.

No visible signs showing where to place your order. Lady working there doesn’t bother to say anything, as she hands orders to others who were already waiting. A family walked up and went to the same wrong window, she ignored them too. I asked her what was on the Mexican burger. She listed some savory ingredients, then only gives me guac, lettuce and cheese on my burger. Kicker was the soda that felt like it had never been in inside of a cooler. Red and green salsitas were good, just bad service.

I ordered a California burrito and carne asada fries, the fries were really stiff and it was a really small portion. We ate it anyway, we were really hungry. I tried to call, I asked about if maybe we can we make the order and not even for free and was kind of yelled at on the phone lol I guess we're just going to have to go to lucha's now....

Although a charming place and a warm employee, our food was not a tasty as it supposed to be. Plus, it was pretty salty. Portions are smaller than elsewhere but the price is comparable. The staff made an error in our order but they fixed it.

Best chicken tortilla soup in San Diego, hands down. Staff is always friendly. Place is a dive, but that’s also what makes it special. I wouldn’t want to eat someplace fancy with this food, it takes like comfort and home and all the warm wonderful nice things. Just go eat here. It’s amazing always.
