We saw Amy Winehouse (jazz tribute) Under The Stars at Sunset Terrace - the 4th floor rooftop venue at the Hotel Intercontinental. Parking downtown is awful. ACE parking across the street on Bayfront or valet at the hotel if available are best bets. We ended up valeting after many loops around the hotel without luck. Elevator directly up to the 4th floor just outside the hotel entrance made getting there easy. Venue was intimate. Sound was okay. Windy on the rooftop. Would have also been better without chatting neighbors. Why go to a live musical performance to talk? Food service has opportunity. The menu posted is misleading. Only a limited menu (pizza and charcuterie board) plus canned beverages available at music venue. Full menu downstairs on first floor. Next time, we’ll snack prior to show and drop into one of the nearby eateries post show. We went to Ruth’s Chris Streak-house for night caps, NY Strip, French fries and dessert. Everyone who worked the venue was super nice and helpful. I would go see a show here again; it was good fun. ?✨?

Definitely a must attend event. Best Frank Sinatra tribute ever. Gorgeous location, great musicians, outstanding singer! I took my daughter (a Frank Sinatra fan) and she was mesmerized by his performance. I highly recommend it

Did not eat, but 2 cans of Cutwater cost $30.00 and parking (across the street) at Ace was $33 for 10 hours. The only options were 2 hours or 10 hours.Parking: Very, very pricey

day pass for here today was $15 plus tax. I consider this a decent price since parking is $42! I got a ride from a friend so i didn't pay that! The place is clean and of course the hotel is beautiful. I just had higher expectations for this place. i might consider coming back but I would definitely have someone drive and split the cost of parking perhaps. They validate for 3 hours if you have spent $50. Easy if I went with someone. awwww... next time!

This place is fantastic. The entire team at Layover is always friendly, helpful and efficient. The pool is clean, get there early enough to snag a spot, and settle in for a great pool day. Drinks and food are top notch!

We came here for a birthday party and were expecting something a little different based on how they present the place on Instagram. Besides it being just overall kind of a boring spot, the service and food was lacking. The burger was good but everything else was not. Orders took a while to come out.

I purchased a ResortPass to Layover and had a fabulous time. The pool is very clean and has ample seating. Towels are provided. The bar menu is great- we had some margaritas that were top notch and also ordered the champagne paleta cocktail. We split a cheese plate for lunch as well. Prices are on the high side but that's what is expected at a hotel bar. There is a bit of an initial push to upsell you on higher shelf alcohol etc but when we declined to upgrade further the server wasn't pushy about it at all. The servers were excellent and the view from the pool is AMAZING. We will definitely be back.

We just hosted our daughter's graduation party here and it was fantastic! Great service, great views and good food. I would highly recommend this spot for a private party!!

The chips and guacamole are SEVENTEEN DOLLARS. A $1.5 dollar soda is SEVEN DOLLARS. I have never seen prices like this anywhere in my life. Unbelievable. I get that they have a view but $17 for some tortilla chips and mashed avocados is unacceptable even if you're on top of the Empire State Building.

Check out my blog post about Layover here: may be a tourist spot since it's on top of a hotel but the real locals know How awesome layover is! Perfect spot to view the San Diego Harbor. Layover is a laid-back rooftop bar and lounge on the fourth floor rooftop of InterContinental San Diego. They have an adjoining pool and cabana area! Must buy day pass for pool access. Lots of seating facing the water and a few fire pits when it gets chilly.DrinksLayover has craft slushy versions of classic drinks. They're small but they'll get ya! They have "Paper Plane" has Bulleit Bourbon, Apersol, Drapo Vermouth and "Aviation" has Aviation Gin, Violet Liqueur, Maraschino, Lemon. Also a variety of canned wines and craft beers (a few on draft too). They have a full bar that can pretty much create any type of drink you like. I ordered the Tequila Sunrise. It was one of those rare cocktails where there was clearly enough alcohol, but tasted just as great - so pretty too! FoodThe Stone Oven Pizza and Blackened Local Halibut Fish Tacos are my favorites! The fish tacos are stuffed with fresh, blackened halibut and topped with avocado crema. I ordered half cheese or half pepperoni. SO GOOD! The tomato sauce is big slices of pepperoni had a slight kick - so good, so cheesy! Bloody Mary Shrimp Cocktail was a bit different, not your typical shrimp cocktail. Baby shrimp, pickled jicama, cucumber, and celery tossed in a house-made bloody mary mix. Its on the smaller side but still really delicious. Open daily noon to sunset and complimentary parking is offered for up to 3 hours with validation.Plus the service is outstanding everybody from the manager to the waitress! They really make the experience that much better.

This is a wonderful bar overlooking the San Diego Bay. Spectacular views and a great place to watch the sunset. There are even fire pits for cool nights.
