Very down to earth and mellow. This is the best place in Hillcrest to relax and use the computer read drink coffee snack on their croissants yum. First came here for a MeetUp reminds me of Washington state Redmond area some of the cafes near

Love this place! The food isn’t fantastic, but it’s not bad. Service is pretty good as well. Where they excel is the atmosphere: the bottom floor is more restaurant vibes, lots of tables and space down there. Upstairs is my favorite, it’s all Egyptian themed and very spacious. There’s huge tables and outlets at almost every table. There’s also a little room upstairs that’s very quiet and cozy.
My only complaint is the parking. Be prepared to walk multiple blocks and take 10-15 mins just to find a spot. It’s a very sketchy area at night. My friend that’s a 6’4 230lbs man, got sucker punched by a tweaker when he was walking to his car at night… it’s not safe to walk alone around there at night, and most of the parking is a block away from the cafe, in a residential kinda area that’s very dark and quiet at night.
If you get lucky and park right in front of the cafe you’ll be fine, but if you have to walk to the other spots a block down, there’s very few people out besides the transients in the area. If you go during the day, I doubt you’ll have any issues, but if you plan to go there at night (and can’t park right in front) I would recommend you go with at least another person, or just go during the day if you plan to go alone. Don’t underestimate how crazy it can get around there at night.
Parking: Be prepared to walk a couple blocks to park.

I'm giving this five stars solely because of their courage in carrying on the tradition of neighborhood owned coffee shops. Service was good but nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered a Cobb salad. It was slow coming and consisted of a bed of greens from a bag, quite a bit of which were going bad. One sliced egg. 4 or 5 small rolls of that sliced turkey meat from the plastic pack. About one quarter sliced avocado. A few cherry tomatoes. A sprinkle of chopped bacon and blue cheese. And a packet of ranch dressing. $15. I ate the toppings and left the lettuce. 2 stars. The atmosphere is great and I may come back and try something else.

Great central Hillcrest location. Great for a bite to eat. Great to meet a new friend.
Parking: Depends on the day and time you go.
Kid-friendliness: Not really a place for children.

Food is decent. The establishment is pretty dirty , food on the floor sticky tables not the most sanitary. The barista Nick was passive aggressive. 3 out of 5 stars

The place is nice, the service good as well as the drinks
The desserts are delicious but too sweet for my taste.
You can also ask them to prepare a snack like a sandwich
I love that it has connections at each table, it is full of people who are working or doing schoolwork and the place is comfortable, quiet and has good connectivity
Parking: You have to look for a place on the street and it is frequently saturated.

Think we just went on a bad day but all 4 of mine and my friends drinks tasted like dirt water. And we all got different drinks... but they all tasted the same. (And one was a blended drink)
They were nice which is why I didn't want to ask for a refund but gosh... definitely not a good day.

The neighborhood around this cafe is REALLY BAD. That's not the fault of the company, but you have to walk through all kinds of wierdness just to enter the front door.
