First time in Mexico City and was told by a friend to come here. It was fantastic. Cocktails were perfectly balanced. The food was so good. Definitely get the sliders. Will come back here before I return home.

After several years at the Vino Carta Wine bar in Solana Beach, the minds behind Long Story Short decided to open their own restaurant at North Park. The courses are meant to be shared. We enjoyed every single dish. All are nicely done, tasted great and had some twist to it. We had a wonderful evening.

I could eat here weekly! From the frisee salad, roasted carrots, the pasta dishes, freshness of the fish and meats, down to the purees- ALL OF IT- is unique and carefully crafted deliciousness.I highly recommend Long Story Short for a date night- any night- it has a casual, but refined ambiance, a great staff, and amazing flavors!

We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was fantastic start to finish. We had our minds set on a certain pasta dish but Bethany, our guide on this journey, described another dish that wasn’t listed on the menu SO WELL we couldn’t help but order and it was divine, to say the least. The atmosphere was subtle yet orderly and inviting. The team made sure we were well taken care of - we even received a signed letter from the team congratulating us on our anniversary! The price was lower than what we expected for this level of service and the food we tasted - can you even ask for more?I’ll take any opportunity I can to recommend Long Story Short - and can’t wait for the next time I get the pleasure of dining here

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Long Story Short, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! The restaurant's transition under the culinary expertise of Chef partners Elliott and Kelly Townsend has been nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. The commitment to showcasing the best of California cuisine shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. The menu, which evolves with the seasons, offers a remarkable array of dishes crafted from locally sourced, sustainable ingredients. Each plate was a work of art, bursting with flavor and creativity. But Long Story Short is not just a place for incredible food; it's also a wine lover's paradise. Their carefully curated selection of natural wines from global producers who champion natural winemaking and responsible farming is impressive. Whether you're a wine enthusiast or just looking for a great glass to complement your meal, you're sure to find something special here. The combination of excellent cuisine, delicious natural wine, and commitment to sustainable and responsible practices make Long Story Short a gem in North Park. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a farm-to-table dining experience in San Diego!

Absolutely a fabulous experience to experience the best locally sourced food in San Diego. The execution was spot on. The flavors of the fish that we tried was amazing. When I say locally sourced think Jr Organic and Tunaville Market for fish. Just know going in the menu is designed to share. That means a great opportunity to try so many things.

Had an absolutely incredible dinner! All the dishes we had were so good, and the natural wine list was equally as impressive as the food. I will definitely be back soon for many more dinners. I am so excited that a restaurant of this caliber is now in North Park

Excellent meal! Loved the frisee (sp?) salad and the uni risotto. Joel provided great wine recommendations. We coming back for sure. Also they validated our parking in the deck!

Been eating with them since they were in Vino Carta Solana Beach, and it’s by far my favorite restaurant in San Diego! From the incredible and unique food, to the amazing natural wine selection, to impeccable service and atmosphere, it really can’t be beat. The food is gorgeously plated, too, which is always a plus for me! They’re definitely gin their way to be recognized as one of San Diego’s top restaurants. Do yourself a favor and enjoy an unforgettable dining experience here ASAP.

My girlfriend and I came to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and were blown away. We tried the rockfish crudo, the charred curry carrots, the uni toast, and the seabass meuniere with fingerling potatoes. The uni toast had retained a little too much brine, but everything else was so incredible. The seabass was the best piece of cooked fish I've ever eaten! We will be coming back to finish the menu, and seasonally to see what Long Story Short has to offer through the year!

Tried 6 dishes and 2 wines. 3 of the dishes ranged between good and great but the other 3 were disappointing, as their flavors were far too tame or just confused. On the positive side, the fish a la meuniere was delicious, the agnolotti were pretty tasty, and the bread and butter was nice. On the other hand, the roasted carrots were mostly undercooked, the zucchini and eggplants were a miss, and the crudo barely tasted like anything other than fish and a slight hint of fridge. The food is not bad per se, it's just really disappointing at this price point. So is the service: our busser didn't seem to be very familiar with the dishes and caused confusion when he served us the crudo but presented it as sashimi.I wish I could give this place a more positive review because their wine list is relatively strong. Unfortunately, there's 10+ other restaurants in SD that blow LSS out of the water at the same price point.
