We go often and when it's busy, but this time each course took like forever to get served. An hour in and we just getting the salads, then another 30 min for main course. Good thing we didn't order steaks. Disappointing outing.

Outstanding service and delicious food. Kyle, our waiter, was fantastic! Don't pass up the butchers bread. Steak was perfect and chicken carbonara was done to perfection.

Horrible Food & Horrible Service. Had good OT & G reviews & nearest to Shell Concert venue, so chose this over 100 other nearby restaurants. There x 1.5 hours & barely got drinks & apps, no time for entrees as service sooooooooo slow, show @ 7ish. Server Robert/Roberto soooo slow to take order & get order. Food barely eatable: Cesar leaves uncut & WAY overdressed with added side anchovies dry & not tasty, meatballs a tad too mushy & artichoke very mediocre, a tad undercooked. $60. each was a WASTE. Never again. A CHAIN restaurant that has lost its direction, like most nowadays. Very gross & filthy was the wood countertop behind Table 124/1, covered in a thick dust. Wanted to tell manager before we left but NONE around. Yuck.

My daughter and I were in San Diego from North Carolina for a mini vacation. I told her to pick a restaurant for dinner so she chose Lou & Mickey's. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Everyone we encountered was wonderful and service was amazing. We ordered the meatballs and garlic bread as an appetizer and they were delicious. We both had wagyu steak and it was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. The crisp apple tart was delicious. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and not too much like a lot of desserts can be. I took a piece of key lime pie to go and the few bites I have had have been great. My daughter even enjoyed a cup of cappuccino and she never drinks coffee unless it's a caramel cold brew. We missed out on the butcher's bread unfortunately but maybe next time.

We were pleased to be able to reserve a table at lunch time during the last day of Comic-Con. We were celebrating a birthday, and everyone had a good time. Our waiter was exceptional.

Great food! Delicious! Our waiter was so kind & helped our son feel celebrated for his birthday!

I wanted to check this place out because of the high reviews but I was very disappointed with the outcome of my dinner experience. I booked through open table as an anniversary event, Was seated next to the bar, where people were loud and obnoxious. Mind you, there were plenty of other seatings in the restaurant that was quiet and secluded. Next, our waitress seemed like she got off at the wrong side of the bed. She was barely engaging, low energy and was rushing us with what we wanted to choose for food. She didn't provide us any suggestions or help as she stood there awkwardly waiting for us to look at the menu that we just received. She has that look like she's irritated and her vibe was just not it. She lingered around us when we were looking at our receipt too. Food wise - the most mediocre meal I had at a place that serves what is supposedly have amazing steak. Our 16 oz ribeye was not the best meat quality - it was not cooked medium rare. More like medium. And the crazy thing about it is we needed to add salt to the meat. SALT. A good quality meat doesn't need salt or any other seasoning to it. I got the sea bass, and it was dry. The pickle slaw under the fish did not go well with flavors. Matter in fact, it lacked flavor entirely. Oh, and I needed to add a ton of salt. The $16 side mushrooms - guess what it needed? SALT. Everything besides the French onion soup lacked flavor. The old fashion was weak, bartender barely put a speckle of whiskey in it. For a $250 check after tips; I was expecting much more. I left hungry because I did not finish my meal and was very disappointed. I gave the leftovers to a homeless person outside the building. The waitress didn't even bother wishing us a happy anniversary or helped us celebrate it. What a worse way to end our anniversary getaway vacation with this experience. I do not recommend it if you're celebrating something special, want great service or great food.

This visit was a little disappointing. The service was slow, not attentive as we previously experienced. The food was good but prices went up and now they are charging for bread.

Great ambiance. My only issue is that we asked for a steak medium well and it came out medium rare. Other than that, everything was amazing. Highly recommend the Mac n cheese, crab cake, and creme brulee

Erica was the best server I’ve ever had (and the sea bass was fantastic)

When we arrived, we advised Adam, our server, that we were spending our last night in San Diego and were not in a hurry. He was aware that a large party had reservations for later and our table, among others, would be used to seat them. The restaurant has a published duration for dinner, so no surprise the table was booked for later. However, having been advised of our interest in a leisurely dinner, the manager, Heather, approached us, explained the situation and asked if we would be amenable to relocating to a table where we would not have any time constraints. We truly appreciated her thoughtfulness and willingness to accommodate us. After relocating, the service and food were outstanding.

Fantastic service, amazing ambiance and wonderful authentic high quality meals! We even had a tutorial on the dry aging of beef!

We had a 7pm dinner reservation here on a Friday night. We were super excited to eat here as we had looked over the menu and photos before arriving. It was the first night of our stay in Gaslamp, and this experience left a bad taste in our mouths for the rest of the weekend. We were sat quickly, but that is where the good ends. We waited about 10 minutes for our server to take our drink orders. Another 15 minutes for our drinks to actually arrive to our table. Then another 10 minutes for our server to come and take our order. We ordered two French onion soups, and an order of mac and cheese. When the food came out, we were starving. However, we were quickly disappointed by both our soups and the side of mac. The French onion soup fell flat, it was very bland and lacked any depth of flavor. The mac and cheese was also tasteless and dry. It was as if the noodles were cooked in nothing but heavy cream and thrown on the plate with some breadcrumbs. We had to douse it in salt and pepper. No cheese flavor at all. Our server never came by to check in after we received our food. We counted over 12 times that he walked by our table, and never once did he stop. We had to flag him down to get our check since we were just so over it. In total, our server visited our table 3 times. Once to take our drink orders, again to bring the drinks, and the last time to take our order. My friend even asked our waiter for a straw when he brought our drinks, she never got that straw. The food runners ended up doing more for us than our own server, at least when we asked them for some hot sauce (anything to add flavor to that tasteless mac and cheese), we got that within seconds. We spent over $100 on two drinks, two soups, an order of mac and cheese, and terrible service. Needless to say, we won't be returning and are very disappointed.

A wonderful experience as usual. My husband and I came in for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we have made Lou and Mickeys our anniversary tradition every year and they never let us down. We were served by Dustin, who was nothing short of the perfect waiter. He was extremely thoughtful, attentive and kind. By far has been the best waiter we have had in the many many times we've been there. He offered to take photos for us for our anniversary and even gave us a complimentary dessert to take home (we were stuffed!) Lou and Mickeys is a staple in San Diego. We will always be coming back

It was busy with the padres being in town and some servers didn't want to wait on us until everyone was sitting down even though the tables were in the bar area
