Solid experience, we liked the blt avocado sandwich more than the Caesar salad. Would def go back to try more
Original: Lowkey, kind of a bum restaurant. As a vegan myself, I do like it. It just their food is soooo basic ahhahhahaha. I rated five stars because the food was enjoyable enough for me not to hate anything about this place.
Why did I call this restaurant a bum? Just read the other reviews, and they removed so much stuff that I liked that I don't even like going here anymore. The food now is so painfully inoffensive that I can't really critique it negatively.
Like imagine the most nonoffending vegan food you have ever tasted. That is how I feel right now. Like, is it good? I guess... But like I wish it had some5hing more
EDIT: Actually, there are really good now!!!
EDIT 2: Hmmmm, I should probably explain myself.
So I went back to the restaurant to try some new item, and [[WOWE]], was it an improvement. Like... I feel like the food now got an increase in flavor profile.
I don't know if it was because it was the new items (the cali burrito and cauliflower wring), or they just improved the taste... but I need to order the original item again to double check.
So yeah, I would definitely recommend going here :3

Great food and many options, will definitely be going back.
Very kind and great costumer service, had the Nashville Hot Sandwich, texas fries and Korean sweet & spicy chick'n app. All were very good!! We will be back!
Such a hidden treasure. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food is out of this world. Homemade, fresh, and full of love.

Loving Hut is one of those staples that is always there and always good, but we often don't think about stopping here. Having just flown across the country into San Diego (we live nearby) we were a bit hungry. This time was the right time. We both ordered the Orange Chick'n, and we were not disappointed. It had plenty of orange sauce and a lot of broccoli and rice. We shared a moist piece of chocolate cake.
OMG....if you are a truffle-lover, the Inzane burger will change. your. life!.
Vegitarian/vegan burgers have gotten CRAZY expensive at regular burger joints, with some places charging even MORE for veggie patties than they charge for beef! The prices here were very reasonable, and I'll be dreaming of that burger tonight!!! The vegan biscoff cookie butter cake was also amazing...and the people who work there are so very sweet. Just a great experience all-around.

This is my favorite vegan restaurant in San Diego — especially this location!
The food is always fresh and super delicious, and the little market inside is full of unique plant-based goodies I hadn’t seen before.
I also really love that they care for a stray cat near the restaurant — such a kind and compassionate touch. 💚

A nice quiet place for lunch.
We had the cha cha garlic noodles, which are always good
Inzane burger with gluten-free bun and sweet potato fries
Garlic fries, too
The burger was very good. Bun was good. For the price, however, the burger was tiny. The ranch, which I was charged extra for, was amazingly bad, and the sweet potato fries were fine but would have been eaten and maybe even enjoyed had there been real ranch or good ranch.
This was the most expensive burger I have ever had once you add in the bun and fries and ranch. Not worth that.
This restaurant is definitely not good for gluten-free people.
There are so many tasty looking dishes, but the majority have gluten, so I have no reason to come back.
Servers were very kind and friendly.

I’ve been here once before a few years back to sit in when visiting and had a great experience so naturally now that I’m close by this was a must. I’ve done pick up two times now and the experience has been super. Extremely fast, great menu and of course the food is spectacular. Not to mention their little grocery section has been a nice perk. My preference is the Amazing Chow but I have a feeling you can’t go wrong with this place.
If you're looking for a good meal and you're in the area on Mira Mesa, look no further and come here. The menu at Loving Hut is a bit daunting and global, with Thai currys next to pasta dishes and a separate burger and chicken menu, however, if you are with kids, it is especially nice to have variety especially if you were hungry and want a good meal. Our kids ended up ordering burger and chicken sandwich which were excellent, our daughter usually has burgers without toppings but ordered one with a huge stack of mushrooms and lettuce and ended up eating the entire thing. Our other daughter ordered a chicken sandwich which she ended up eating as well despite housing a bunch of appetizers beforehand. We had a variety of items including the Korean wings, eggplant curry, udon noodles with chicken, and spam musubi rolls. Everything was so good.
You probably noticed from my descriptions that I failed to mention that everything is vegan. We are vegetarian and love plant-based items. This place does not feel vegan and their food looks and appears like any other restaurant. What's best is that the service is really good, the owners were kind enough to come to our table and greet us and chat about their favorite items on the menu and their story about opening loving hut approximately 15 years ago.
At the end of our meal, we were so full but our daughters wanted to try the milkshakes. Oh my goodness, they were so good. One of them had the caramel chocolate shake and the other had the ube. They were quite heavy but worth it and we suck them down on the drive home.
The only critique, if there is any, is that there is a lot of fried food on the menu. But this does not mean all of the food is fried, we just happen to order a lot of the plant-based meats that were fried and heavy. There are many salads and soups which we did not get to yet. I'm sure we can have a more balanced meal and not leave so stuffed next time. Anytime we are on Mira Mesa, we are going to forget looking at Yelp or maps for dinner, we're just going to go to Loving Hut!
