We tried to go on a Saturday night and Google states that they open at 6 p.m. We arrived at 8:00 p.m. and was told that they don't open until 10:00 p.m. We had made reservations for dinner and it's more of a club than a place to dine.

We did not know the restaurant portion was in a club otherwise we would've ate somewhere else but hey it is, Mete Club. Kind of weird being at a club hours before opening with a few people there to eat. Can't change that tho. Food was bomb.
You have to almost imagine METE as two different places. It's a super club. First comes dinner. Asian inspired. And, I get that you roll your eyes a little at more of that. Actually, there isn't much of that downtown, and, frankly, there's just not the quality of this downtown. We tried two the inspired dishes and they didn't disappoint, in fact they've got something on top rung.Service is another thing. People came and went fast - but there was always someone on thier way. The Chef even stopped by to ask us how things were - honestly, something more places should let happen. Bartender knows the way to mix, with some good versions of favorites.METE is a new turn on something San Diego used to have lots of - Supper Clubs. It's picking up fast (we tried to come a week prior, but the line was long - we made reservations to get our foot in), and probably gonna be one of those places you wish you went early on. We're glad we did. It's legit new design inside - none of the tired 'industrial' look that's overused in San Diego, none of the chrome and wood look that someplaces try. It's got it's own high energy vibe to it that's finally bringing something San Diego's needed for a long time.
Attended a corporate party. Private party for a couple of hours before they opened to the public. Nice interior with booths around a dance floor. Cool looking bar with smoke coming up from it. There was a long line to get in when I

I was recommended to try this new spot. Our first impression was that the decor is nice, love the large booths. Arrived around 7:30pm and got greeted and seated right away. Since we came in for some cocktails, we asked about the bar because it had a super cool vibe but we were told the bar wasn't stocked up yet. For the record we only came in for drinks and did not eat dinner. The bathroom did not look like it had been serviced as the trash cans were full and no TP. Back at our table, we Scanned the barcode menu but to our dismay no drinks on menu. We were told us they didn't have a drink menu yet. Our server seemed to be having a rough day, not rude but he definitely was doing ok. He did mention something about only ‘having 1 drink with cognac and banana'... Im not sure what that meant? Weird, I know. 10 min later he said he found a drink menu for us. We cheered! The majority of our group ordered ‘Drakes favorite drink' that had Gin, champagne with passion fruit (don't recall the name) but it was nothing more than a mimosa. Two of the girls couldn't even drink it, they said they ‘didn't want to get heartburn', we didn't send it back but we decided to ask for the check and after a mistake splitting the check we left.
