The moment I saw his face, I was very relieved. Because I was convinced that no matter what I ordered, something delicious would come out. I ordered T&A and Hungarian mushroom soup, The foods are absolutely delicious, carefully well made. Buttery bread, crunchy, fresh ingredients and I love soup so much Yes Mad Munch! Love Love

I love this place! I don't love in the area, so when I'm in OB, I always stop in for a pump up the jam- add turkey! Everything I've tried is awesome though. Great local vibes, delicious food and friendly staff 💯

We had to try the Big Rick, TD & Fletch Sandwich...and man, oh man! WAS it an amazing sandwich! Not only are the three meats (sausage, bacon, and ham) a perfect representation of the guys on the 101.5 KGB morning show, but they are not overpowering the three cheeses. BUT the best part of it is the bread and the crunchiness of it all! It includes a donation to the Red Cross, so you eat well, feel well, and do well all in one sandwich. Thank you for making happier today!

I'm not complaining about the food, although i would suggest blotting some of the grease off of the fried things. I've had a sandwich from here before and it was great.

what i see that is maybe a turn off for some people is the nickle and diming mistake I've seen places do and they failed. if someone comes in for a plastic spoon, you're going to charge them 50 cents? no. if everyone was taking advantage of that, then yeah, i can see that, but how many people come in asking for forks or spoons?just be nice, it looks good on u to do that here and there maybe.

the prices are high also. maybe it's expensive to run the place, i have no idea. there's also no a/c. people don't want to sweat while eating. those are my only critiques.

Wow! I'm glad we stopped by Mad Munch for some lunch while visiting San Diego. I'd say the whole family agrees that the grilled cheese sandwiches are among the best we've had. The sandwiches are packed with flavor and very filling; we couldn't finish them all!

Great people and great creative grilled cheeses.

One of my favorite spots in San Diego, definitely my favorite spot in Ocean Beach. I bring visiting friends and family here, and I have also gotten my coworkers hooked on Mad Munch. Kate and Zach are some of the friendliest people on the block and make unparalleled grilled cheese sandwiches. They rock. My favorite is the Katers' Taters, it is a perfect sandwich to pair with one of their Slapstick sauces (sriracha ranch). The service is quick and friendly, the quality is consistently high, the after-munch nap is deep. I absolutely recommend.

BEST SANDWICHES IN SD. I’ve been eating Mad Munch for almost 10 years, dating back to their OB farmers market days. I’m so happy that they opened a shop on Newport, so I can enjoy their sandwiches more often! My favorite sandwich is Pump Up The Jam, sometimes I’ll add bacon which is a great addition. Most recently, I tried the July special, the Sticky-Icky: a 1/2 lb bacon cheeseburger with peanut butter and jelly. It was amazing. It’s 8:00 AM and I’m seriously considering going back to Mad Munch as soon as they open to be able to enjoy it all over again. Not only is the food incredible, but the owners are lovely people and I’m glad any chance I can stop in to support their business.
