About MAKE Projects

MAKE Projects in San Diego features a unique farm-to-table concept, supporting refugee women by training them in the restaurant industry. The menu includes dishes from the women’s homelands, such as Afghan chicken tacos, and also offers standard fare. Diners can enjoy flavorful options like buttermilk pancakes, tomato cucumber salad, chicken tacos, Shaksuka, focaccia, and Mandazi. The halloumi is a must-try. The restaurant has a spacious interior with high ceilings and a rustic feel, along with a green-space patio for outdoor dining. It is a large, family-friendly place that can accommodate bigger groups. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The chicken n blue corn waffles and Afghan Tacos were delicious! Mimosas with lemongrass and OJ is a great upgrade from the standard. This place has a mellow vibe, insanely delicious food, friendly staff, spacious seating, and it's all for a good cause. The sunshine bowl, sambusas, Somali Malawah, and the MAKE breakfast sandwich were each 10/10! Located in North Park, parking can be challenging, so visitors should plan accordingly. Overall, MAKE Projects offers delicious food while supporting a meaningful cause and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
