Waitress was very friendly and attentive! Food was delicious! Mimosas were made with not too much orange juice, which I loved!
I wish I can give a 0/5 for this place. The servers are rude and disrespectful. The place is dirty. The table we were given had disgusting stains and crumbs that were not wiped off. Despite asking the server multiple times to wipe it clean, he pretty much refused. After speaking to the manager, he dismissed the concern and appeared as though he didn’t have the spine to handle his team. We left and went to Sally’s just down the road which had good food, great service and respectful servers!

I was severely disappointed with our NYE dinner. First we were seated by the entrance door and every time someone opened the door, cold air would hit our table. One of the guests in my party is 92 years old and he had to keep his coat on the entire time. Second, our server, Tim, brought out the wrong order. We ordered lobster tail dinner and he brought out lobster roll and tried to argue that what is what we ordered. After insisting that it is not what we ordered, he admitted that they ran out of lobster tail and substituted our order with lobster roll. He probably thought we wouldn't notice or that we wouldn't protest. Either way, I found it very condescending. We declined the lobster roll and ordered something else. After dinner, we ordered one crème brûlée. He brought out at least three different desserts and acted like he was being generous by saying the desserts were on him even though we insisted that we only wanted the crème brûlée. We didn't want them so we left them untouched. Lastly, the bill arrived. Tim acted apologetic but suspiciously lingered at our table. Mind you, this was unusual for him because every other time he came to our table, he would rush back to the bar (like it was his home base). At this point, I was reviewing the bill and the dessert was comped but the lobster roll was still on it. Before I even finished pointing it out, he quickly took the check back as if he knew there was an error that, again, I would not notice. We came back for dinner because we had a very pleasant lunch experience at this same restaurant on the same day. The dinner experience was a stark contrast and was a huge disappointment!
What a delightful surprise in the Marriott Marquis! Marina Kitchen is a fantastic waterfront restaurant with stunning panoramic views of the San Diego bay and marina—sitting there watching the boats and skyline is pure relaxation. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented; the breakfast buffet is generous with great options (love the made-to-order omelets and fresh fruit!), and dinner dishes like the roast chicken and shisito peppers are spot-on delicious.

Generally hotel restaurants do not impress me however, this one was a pleasant suprise. The market fish was delicious!

This was our first time at the Marina Kitchen, and we are not staying at the hotel. We did the Christmas Day dinner buffet for $95 per person, and it was so worth it! You can tell they use quality ingredients. Our only issue was the desserts. The bread pudding was by far the best we’ve ever had, but the rest of the desserts were a bit too sweet.
The hostess and servers were very professional and nice.

The Xmas Buffet was an excellent value and high quality food. Staff was courteous and attentive. Thank you for making our Xmas dinner special ... and for giving me a wonderful birthday cake... such a nice cake an a large piece as well with a nice chocolate lattice decoration on top. I will remember this for next Xmas dinner......
We've been to Marina Kitchen many times when we've stayed at the Marriott. The food is great. We've especially had appetizers and desserts we've enjoyed thoroughly. Their breakfast buffet and holiday buffets are really well done. And! Be sure to have the honey. It's from their own apiary. Soooo good.

I recommend the brunch buffet, good value at a beautiful location, with excellent customer service!
The breakfast was incredibly poor. $40 for a half-empty buffet. There weren't even any vegetables or salads. It's a disgrace to the entire Marriott hotel. A hotel of this caliber and for this price shouldn't offer such poor quality.

The food and the service were good. My wife's salmon was very underwhelming and that it was not plentiful. Also, the drink that we ordered had a large ice cube and hardly any liquor. Once I removed the ice cube there was 3/4 of an inch of liquid in the glass. I paid more for the ice cube than I did for the drink I think. Not worth the $11!
The staff was great, let me start with that. The food had good flavor but most of the hot items I ordered were room temperature or cold. That was disappointing.
The food and service were very good. My only disappoint was that the restaurant does not validate or discount parking at all. We drove from OC. We met our cousin who was visiting San Diego from Boston for a convention and our kids who live in DTSD. We could have parked by them, but chose to drive to the hotel because it was pouring.
