My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant recently (07/05/25 around 7:10pm), but after looking at the menu, she realized she couldn’t eat anything due to a medical condition. As we were leaving, an employee identified as named Mr. OG stopped us to ask what happened. I explained the situation honestly and respectfully that unfortunately, the menu didn’t have options she could safely eat.
To our surprise, Mr. OG responded by asking if we were leaving because the food was too expensive for us. Not only was this assumption completely uncalled for, but it was also deeply rude and offensive. No guest should be spoken to that way, especially after explaining a health-related concern.
We left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. I hope the management addresses this kind of behavior, as it reflects poorly on the restaurant’s hospitality standards. Disappointing experience.
From Phoenix looking for some good ramen and I’m so glad I found this place. It’s located on the second story of a “skydeck” inside of a very nice looking food court. I ordered my ramen medium spicy and it was delicious! I added more chile powder and oil to it. The server Leo was awesome and friendly!

My 9-year old has been asking me to bring her back here to eat her favorite Ramen. It’s always delicious, always great service, and at the same time no wait - perfect combination.
Previous review:
I like the chicken ramen from Marufuku a lot. The staff is always very nice, the service is quick and pleasant and the ramen is always yummy. Very kid-friendly. Located in Skydeck, with a proximity to Jimbo’s and various stores and One Paseo - big plus.
I always enjoy my meals here - quick, delicious and pleasant.
The ramen was delicious and the service was very fast and efficient!
So far the best ramen I have ever had.
Awesome food. Worth the long wait. Best ramen ever !
Overall, our visit to Marufuku Ramen was a mixed experience. While the setting in Del Mar Highlands is a total vibe and our server was genuinely kind and attentive, two things significantly impacted our impression.
Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen – 4.5/5
This was the highlight of the meal. The broth was rich and creamy, the noodles were cooked just right, and the soft-boiled egg was perfectly runny. Truly a standout dish that showcases what Marufuku does best!
Seasonal Mazesoba – 2/5
Unfortunately, this was where things fell apart. My husband mentioned it was “too al dente,” but continued eating it (without even enjoying it). When I tried it after he ate 1/3 of it, I realized the noodles weren’t just “too al dente”…they were completely undercooked. It felt like they’d been boiled for half the necessary time. Not only did that ruin the dish, but my husband (who rarely has stomach issues) experienced stomach discomfort after our dinner, likely from the undercooked noodles. We ended up taking the rest home so we can re-cook the noodles ourselves.
We also found it strange that the restaurant adds a 4% surcharge “to cover increasing costs.” While we understand rising expenses, it feels odd to pass that cost onto guests
I’d definitely return only for the Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen, but after the mazesoba incident, I’d hesitate to try anything else on the menu.
Delicious ramen and fun vibes!
Highly recommend! Was pleasantly surprised with zero expectations and it was flavorful, spicy and perfect ramen 🍜
The pork chashu is gross. I’m serious. It’s been a longgg time since I’ve called a food item gross, because I literally like everything.
To make SURE I wasn’t crazy, I came here twice, a month or so apart… and THEN, went to a different ramen place… and yep! Confirmed, the chashu here tastes almost like it’s been left out? Or the pork is really poor quality? It’s especially prominent in the thick cut of the chashu… I feel like I’m getting prostate cancer as I consume it.
The ramen is good, it’s well topped, if a little fattier than usual (probably again due to the pork). Cannot recommend this place when we have so many options, and I can whole heartily say if you do come here, the deluxe tonkatsu is absolutely not worth it.

Marufuku has some of the best ramen in San Diego! We always go for the Hakata tonkatsu dx with the thick noodles (it usually comes with thinner noodles but you can ask to substitute). It comes with juicy chasu, a soft boiled egg, pickled ginger, corn, finely shopped woo ear mushrooms, and a sheet of seaweed. The broth is rich and creamy - exactly what you would hope for in a tonkatsu broth. It’s the kind of broth that turns to jello if you leave it in the fridge because it’s so rich. This bowl of ramen also comes with a slice of their decadent marinated kakuni pork.
They have a good selection of beers and sake to accompany your meal. There are also some fun imported juices and sodas on offer.
The blistered shishito peppers are a delightful appetizer. Slightly spicy and smokey with a hint of freshness.
Marufuku is tucked in the corner of the sky deck which has many other options for drinking and eating.

Good service. No wait time as a walk in to the bar. Waitress checked up often and everything came out correctly and on time. Delicious ramen. Worth checking out.

Food is excellent. Service is good. Price is a little on the high side, but the portions are generous. Dinged them an extra star for the ridiculous surcharge for "rising food costs and minimum wage". All businesses deal with cost of goods and labor. I think it is really deceptive to add it to the check as an extra charge. Price your menu according please!
