Matcha Cafe Maiko

The matcha here is fantastic! Try their soft serve and their matcha latte. Its worth waiting in line on this busy saturday night!

Not much seating area. Always busy. Parking somewhat difficult. But very good Boba!

As a Matcha lover, I'm always on the hunt for my next great Matcha latte, and Matcha Cafe Maiko in Mira Mesa did not disappoint. My husband and I decided to stop by after a prenatal appointment, and I'm so glad we did.

I've been to this location before and tried other Matcha drinks and treats, but this time I was in the mood for a Matcha latte, which I ordered unsweetened. It was absolutely perfect--rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced without being overly bitter. I also couldn't resist the ube basque cheesecake, and wow, it was moist, flavorful, and delicious.

I'm already looking forward to coming back to try the strawberry Matcha! My only wish is that this location was closer to our home because I'd be here all the time if it were.

Should not have tipped at all. Server refused to give me my ice cream and didnt believe me when I said my order number. He said it belonged to another group and I told him that it WAS my group, and he still didn’t believe me and refused to give me the ice cream. He kept on asking what was my order number which was the same order number that he called out and to which I kept on confirming that YES, this was my order number, and after the same back and forth he goes “well yeah I asked you for your order number, you should have said that.” NO APOLOGIES. NOTHING. I should NOT have tipped. Are your servers high? What is wrong with them?

tasty matcha ice cream, recommend to order cup + cone as you can see in the pic- always spilt and share this with my partner, one with the cone and one with the cup. one stone kills two birds

I had to leave a review for this place the Matcha was different and better than normal! Add vanilla extract to your latte you wont regret it!

had an unfortunate experience at this establishment. I arrived around 12:00 PM, placed an order for a single matcha latte, and after waiting patiently for 45 minutes, I had to leave without my drink. Despite the fact that the café wasn’t particularly busy, I observed several other customers ordering and receiving multiple items while I continued to wait.

It was quite disappointing to feel overlooked in this way, especially since I paid for my order and even left a cash tip, hoping for a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, I simply could not afford to wait any longer.

I’ve attached a timestamp of when my order was placed to provide some context. If you’re in no rush and have 50 minutes to spare for a single item, this might be your spot. However, my experience left much to be desired.

For me it is a little too sweet. But the location is great, plenty of parking and very easy to order.
I am lactose intolerant but somehow I can consume it. Thank you for the service!

The matcha ice cream here is incredible! The matcha flavor is strong and deep. It’s great on its own, as part of a sundae, or with the Hojicha Float! I’ve gotten full tubs of the matcha ice cream to take home in the past too. They also have other flavors like Ube and lattes too that are all really good.

They used to have a crispy rice topping (not the puffed rice) that added a super nice nutty flavor to the matcha, and it looks like it’s not available anymore. I hope they bring it back!

As my nephew was enjoying his matcha cone and cup, he noticed a strand of hair halfway through. This was a disappointing experience.
