Ironically, I've been to all Miguel's restaurants south of Del Mar except this one until recently. I enjoyed them all so decided to try the Point Loma location out for a large dinner event. I was completely satisfied with the food and service so I booked the event.
Wonderful dinner on their terrace celebrating their 40th anniversary. Special menu with special drinks - great prices. Always great food and friendly customer service.

Great atmosphere,we like the outdoor seating. Friendly people. Free chips salsa and queso and it is the best in town. Lotta great combination plates to choose from for my wife and I love the fajita supremo, it's sizzling steak, chicken onions, peppers with a couple large cheese stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp. So good!. I fill up on chips and salsa and queso, eat 3 fajita tacos and take the leftovers home for dinner.

It's in the heart of Point Loma. The place was jumping. Quite busy for a random Friday afternoon. Vibrant bar. Cadillac Margerita was just ok. The Strawberry one was better. The food came out quickly. Most of us got fajitas. They were delicious. They also offer chips with a cheese sauce and salsa. They add a 22% gratuity to your check. Good for a large party. There were 10 of us.

This Saturday we had a reservation for 1pm for 5. We got there early and myself and my bf were sat by 12:55. There were two empty tables, and we were sat in the smaller table meant only for 4 people, where the table next to us was clearly meant for 5-6, but we didn't say anything. We got our chips so we started eating them. Then 5 minutes later a table of 3 sat at the bigger table... weird that we had a reservation for a larger party and got a smaller table, but okay no worries. We see the waitress go up to the table of 3 and clearly they are friends. She takes their drink order, then comes up to us and tells us she will be back. We are 10 minutes in, and I just needed some water... another 5 minutes got by, and the other table has already gotten drinks and their kid got food. Again, I just needed water. She finally came over and I told her how badly we needed some water. 5 minutes later - nothing. At this point I'm frustrated. We have been sitting for 20 minutes and haven't gotten a simple water. I get up and speak to the manager and let her know. The manager was SO polite, and ended up being the one helping us the rest of our meal. The manager was beyond amazing, but the waitress (who only had 2 other tables on a very non-busy day) continued to give me nasty looks the rest of our lunch.
Ultimately, while the manager was beyond wonderful, that one waitress ruined our full experience. We won't be back and I highly suggest going somewhere else, otherwise you'll come here and get a waitress with an attitude who doesn't do her job, and food that's just OKAY while paying top dollar.

I had my birthday here without a reservation. This Miguel's is located on Shelter Island Dr, but we've been to this one and the Harbor Drive locations and received the same magnificent service. The atmosphere is friendly and full of people just having fun discussions. The menu has something for everyone. The Fajitas are what hit our family's fancy, and they were plentiful and delicious. Child and pet friendly.

Fantastic food and service. We had a party of 16, and everyone had their food come out hot and fresh and right. The eaiter was great and omggggg the food and drinks were delicious! We will absolutely be back next time we are in SD! If you are looking for a place after a Marine Corps graduation, this is your SPOT!

Update: We've been coming back when we are in the area for dinner. Service and food are usually pretty good and the portions are big. We were seated in the dining rooms most times but was seated in the bar area once. I felt like we were a bit forgotten at times there but that's my only complaint.
Great staff and very attentive waiters. We were seated upstairs and service was friendly and fast. My husband likes their queso that comes with the complementary chips and salsa.
