The food is terrible but the views on the patio are great. Expect to spend $350 for 2 for terrible food.
We love Mister A's. The view is wonderful, the service absolutely excellent and the food is delicious!
What a magical place to dine!!! The food, service and view are outstanding!!!! My favorite restaurant in San Diego!!!
Our 2nd visit was just as great as the 1st. Ty did a phenomenal job taking care of us, and the food and view were amazing. Will definitely be back.
Wendy our waitress was AMAZING. We were a group of 9 and all of us just loved her. She was so friendly, prompt, attentive, and funny. I spilled some sauce on my dress and she IMMEDIATELY got soda water and a napkin. We spilled wine, she got it covered up. She was so on top of it. The food was also amazing, and the GORGEOUS VIEW and ambience. 15/10
Staff truly knows how to conduct a fine dining experience. Food quality was superb, portions large. The view on such a beautiful sunny day could not be beat!
I highly recommend this place! I discovered it when my daughter was in college in San Diego 12 years ago. The food is exceptional! When we visit San Diego we try to have brunch or dinner here. The ambience inside and out is just so very lovely. My husband and I took our grandson this time and he loved the view of watching the airplanes fly over so very low. if you have not been to Mister A's, you must go.!
Fantastic service, food and views! Couldn't fault the whole evening, we really enjoyed all the food, particularly the pork belly starter and the carbonara Mac and cheese side.
The food was good. It is a chef's choice type menu. This used to be a traditional high end dining venue, but now it has a lot of specialty items. Changing with the times. If you like to eat new, different things, this is for you. The location and service is unbeatable.
The views were incredible. Crystal clear night. Gorgeous! Cocktails were delicious, bartenders friendly and knowledgeable. Serve staff was excellent. Oysters and blue fin tuna so delicious. Salmon Wellington was underwhelming. Very small portions. Scallops were very good, but you only get 3 scallops. Pricey for what you get.

Every trip to Mister A's is a reminder of just how great this restaurant is. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding, while the views of San Diego and the airport are wonderful. We did the Jazz Brunch on Saturday and had a wonderful time.
The menu includes six cold starter items, with a tasty Caesar salad for $21.50. The hot starters range from $25.50 for a pork belly, to $33.50 for the escargot style octopus. The entrées have 12 items from Stone Ground Rosemary Polenta at $36.50 up to a main lobster for $79.50. The menu changes seasonally, and we tried two new items:Octopus Escargot Style and the Rack of Lamb Provençal. The octopus, $33.50, came on a round ceramic snail baking dish. Instead of snails the six holes contained a tasty blend of small pieces of braised Spanish octopus, with sage, purple cauliflower agrodolce, garlic butter, and the house focaccia. The house baguette ($6.50) comes with whipped butter and for dipping, a simple but very flavorful mix of olive and herb oil with sea salt. The Rack of Lamb Provençal $49.50 was perfect, prepared medium rare, as requested, and prepared with garlic, rosemary, thyme, parsley, breadcrumbs, oil, salt, and pepper. The side dish with the lamb of grilled eggplant, sundried tomato, cannellini bean ragu, Calabrian pepper gremolata was creative and something we would love to serve at home to guests. We also enjoyed the truffle fries, $15. Mr. A’s has some 875 wines on its list, and 8,000 bottles. The list includes some 30 wines by the glass, including 12 under $25. It has 40 half-bottles (375ml), offering several whites at $50 up to a Château Montelena 2018 estate Cabernet for $265. The extensive list includes fine selections from California and France, plus Germany, Italy, and Portugal. It has a Back Page with Rare Wines, from $125 for a 2018 Barolo up to $2,695 for a 2006 Mongeard-Mugneret Richebourg, Burgundy Grand Cru. Service was polished and professional, as always, with well-timed bussing and water refills. This included the skilled decanting of an older bottle of wine with a troublesome cork. Corkage is $40. We’ll be back soon with visting guests to enjoy what has become our favorite restaurant in the region.
One of the best spots in San Diego. It's expensive but the service, atmosphere, and food are worth it. We've gone for our first official date as a couple and then again for our 1 year anniversary once married. Go for the experience amd treat yourself. Not your everyday day spot. I normally rate: 1 star dont go 2 star average and would only go if really need or por service or very overpriced. 3 star above average. good rating for me. id go again. 4 star is great. lots of perks and bonuses 5 star is absolutely recommend and must go
Located a block away from balboa park so you can walk afterwards. They have a parking garage right below them, same building. They charge $2 per 15 minutes; with a max of $20.
Mister As is on the 12 floor. Upon walking it’s the bar to the left or the dining area to the right. We went for lunch and they have jazz music playing until 1 by the bar.
The bar had LIMITED drinks.
The waiter sat us by the window which was nice.
The waiter did refill the water in a timely manner but I’ve had service where the water was constantly being filled without having to ask. At one point the water for the table next to us was filled and ours wasn’t which was annoying because the waiter was already asked to fill our water and they just walked right past us.
The food is okay. The shared pastries are 4 pastries at $26. The pastries came out super COLD. At least Starbucks warms them up for you.
The entrees were also okay. We got steak and a burger. The food came out in a timely manner. The food lacked flavor and was cold. Maybe it’s the temperature in the room, but all our food was cold. The steak was SMALL small and came with only 4 small pieces of potatoes. The burger came with truffle fries which were okay. The burger LACKED FLAVOR. What gave the food flavor was the bacon. The macaroni and cheese was a side. The macaroni looked baked but the inside was gooey. It almost had the consistency of soup.
I would come here just for the view but not for the food. Depending on where you sit you can see Coronado bridge, downtown, or the airport.
We told them it was our wedding anniversary but they didn’t do much or acknowledge it. Only the hostess said congratulations 🤷♀️

Great ambiance and views. We both enjoyed our meals, golden snapper and tenderloin-both tasty and cooked to perfection.
