My best restaurant experience. The food was exquisite and the service equivalent. I enjoyed it so much that I took my parents and had a great time.

Celebrated 2 bdays here one last January then March . Recent renovations made the place look bigger, specially the bar area. If you are a wine lover - With the long List of wine selection , you are sure to find something you'll like. The view was breath taking , sunset -always perfect. We had LOCAL BLUE FIN TUNA TIRADITO, 10 OZ BRAISED SHORT RIBS , WILD CAUGHT ALASKAN HALIBUT ( a little on the dry side ) MISTER A'S TRUFFLE FRIES, MISTER A'S MAC & CHEESE . The overall service was ok. Nothing that stands out. Price $$$$ probably bec of the beautiful SD view . Parking : under ground valet and street parking. Bathroom : clean

Food was disappointing; I was very let down by the lamb chops. Service was average, but the one thing I appreciated was that they didn't rush you. However, I don't tolerate servers chasing after tips. Restaurants should pay their servers fairly--they already include a surcharge to cover their wages. Why should I have to tip on behalf of the establishment? Having a server chase me for a tip was incredibly unprofessional and unacceptable.

This place is one of my favorites for Birthday lunch or dinners. I also like it for an intimate and classy Thanksgiving meal. Service is pleasant and they do a good job for the most part. The views can't be beat. Love coming here!

SoCalTasting's journey to Mr. A's Bar and Restaurant in Bankers Hill, San Diego was nothing short of extraordinary. With breathtaking water and downtown views and bay paronama, close-up airplane sightings, and the mesmerizing cityscape, it's a must-visit. Our experience was elevated to new heights with mezcal drinks adorned with burnt tobacco leaves, creating a flavor sensation like no other. An unforgettable fusion of views and tastes awaits! Service was fantastic! Definitely going back there soon!

One of the best meals we've had in a long time. A must try when in San Diego. Service was exemplary, views were stunning and the food was out of this world. Can't wait to try more of what they offer.

I took my wife here for a birthday dinner and let me say that this place was perfect for a special occasion like that. The views that you get from here are hypnotizing especially at night. It's also nice that you can see planes landing since it's near the airport and you are actually eye level when they are landing which is super cool. The service was also exceptional the waiters were friendly and attentive. They were nice enough to also move the lamp heaters closer to our table since we were cold which we appreciated. The food was so amazing. We got a beef plate that I can't remember the name of but it was such a beautiful mix of flavors but the star of the show for me was the truffle Mac and cheese. The truffle flavor was so powerful which is right up my alley since I love truffle. Overall this was an awesome meal and perfect for any occasion.

My hubby made reservations for our anniversary! Colby was our waitress she was so sweet and helpful in helping us order here for the first time and she remembered exactly what wine I ordered even when I was just tasting them! The views were so beautiful, I'm glad we reserved for the outside tables as they overlook san diego/ downtown skyline. The ambience was nice, they played jazzy piano covers of your favorite hits which was awesome considering how romantic it was! Super vibes! We ordered: the pork belly w/ stick rice = this was my favorite part of our dinner! The pork belly tasted like filipino lechon with a sweet caramel glaze kind of like light teriyaki sauce and crispy sticky rice on the bottom! 9/10 Braised short ribs = 8/10, meat fell apart and was so tender, a little dry and needed a little flavor came out luke warm and not hot but it was just okayy Brussel sprouts = 6/10 this was roasted fine, but they added unneeded salt or something that made the brussel sprouts reaally salty which even overpowered the bacon! Overall would come back and try some other items, the view was amazing super romantic!

This place had a beautiful view. My only regret was telling them I wanted a outside table. Staff was super friendly and explained the specials of the day real well. Food was delicious no complaints.

Sat on the rooftop for brunch, and it was quite nice. The breakfast sandwich had the perfect ratio of aïoli and topping. The wagyu tartare is a bit on the vinegary side. I wish it tasted more like a wagyu, but a complimented well with potato chips. The signature breakfast had bacon that was rather a bit too crispy but overall still a good breakfast. Strangely, there's a lot of tiny bugs that fly around outside, so be aware. Though it is expensive, it's definitely an experience to at least try once. It's a great place to celebrate occasion.

I've been going to Mr As since I was a little kid and I've never had a bad experience. I've eaten at the bar many times wearing a hat never been bothered for it. Today the hostess asks me to take my hat off after I drove all the way down for Easter dinner at the bar. The bar is totally empty and the manager says then I can't wear my hat and my aviator nation sweater isn't ok either. Very upsetting as a lifetime customer rather than let us get dinner at the empty bar as 30-40+ year customers they ask us to leave and as many times as I've been here for dinner that'll be the last time for a while.

View, service, and atmosphere are outstanding. The ribeye was perfectly medium rare, sadly, the mushroom medley was less than desirable.Enjoyed the drinks, bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable and dessert was good. I'll definitely be

This place is fantastic! There was nothing that I did not like. We rode the elevator to the top floor, exited, and were greeted warmly. We were shown immediately to our seats. I recommend a reservation, and HIGHLY recommend sitting outside as the weather permits. Do yourself a favor and arrive 15-30 minutes before sunset. The view is incredible. We watched planes landing, the sunset, and the pacific. Our wait staff was wonderful. My drink was never empty. They were quick, polite, and efficient. Our waiter was professional, classy, and suave. I suggest engaging the staff in conversation. They are purely professional, but if they see you want to engage with them, they're all great people, with fantastic topics to tell you about. Not being familiar with San Diego, they all had great recommendations and advice for me. On to the food... My girlfriend and I are quite the pair, and it's difficult to find a place that can accommodate our separate needs, while providing great food. Mister A's nailed it. I'm a strict carnivore (I don't eat any sugar) and my date is a vegan. They had many options for both of us. Great steaks and seafood for me, many fancy vegan options for her. They even had vegan desserts. We loved our food, the staff, the service, and the view. The staff even offered to take pictures of us, and they were quite good at it. I'm sorry I don't remember our head waiters name. He really deserves recognition. He was a gentleman that grew up in Cajon, and recommended tailors for me in Tijuana.
