What a lovely, friendly, delicious spot in the Gaslamp District. I had two lattes and our meal. The oatmeal was nicely seasoned with cinnamon. I didn’t need to add the usual sugar to it. And it had delightful perfect fruit on it. All of the fruit was peak ripeness. That takes attention to detail not found everyplace. Great spot!!

Save your time .
We arrived here just before the brunch rush at 11:05am. Ordered a Veggie Maggie and avocado toast, iced latte and regular coffee.
Very limited seating. They need more outdoor chairs and tables down on the actual sidewalk, where there is a lot of room.
Since a family business they either need a younger brother/sister to bus the tables OR have a sign to say, “Please bus your own table.”
Only good thing was the coffee. This saved Chiefy Cafe from a 1 star review.
Most important: the service was awful. The cashier didn’t feel the need to even look at us and it took over 24 minutes to get our order. People that had come after us got their food.
When we asked the workers whether our food was the one sitting on the counter, they said (non-schulantly) ya.
It was not even our food! Had to take it back.
Known fact: Small business that have bad service, don’t do well.

I came 2 mornings in a row for the delicious coffee and great breakfast. The bagel sandwiches are so fresh and the pastries are excellent!

I was visiting San Diego from Texas and this is the best coffee shop I found. It is run by lovely people and it is so so good! I highly recommend checking it out.

Stale pastries is what they sale. If you charge this much make it fresh and not ones that are a few weeks old. Coffee is milky and cold. 😣

Expensive. But pleasant.
Only qualm: wish they'd invest in decent Togo packaging. The cheap carriers they use frequently bottom out and spill orders.

The staff here makes this place one of my favorite family owned coffee shops to sit and read my book to and have small gatherings with my ladies. Their menu is filled with fresh & delicious choices! Sunshine hits so nicely here in the early afternoon!

If I could give Chiefy Cafe 1000 stars, I would. I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful little spot, and they had hands down the best Acai bowls that Ive ever had. (I literally dream about these, they are so good) and I think I had roughly 5 of them in 1 week. The customer service is wonderful, and they learn your name quickly which makes for a meaningful and beautiful interaction. For the quality of coffee and food that you get, the pricing is perfection. From someone who has traveled most of the country, this is hands down a must visit spot.

The smoothie was great. Like supporting small shops like this.
