Saying this may very well be the best fried chicken in Southern California might not say enough. Perfect execution on the waffles, the crispy bacon, the potatoes, all exactly what you dream of for breakfast. The chicken was perfectly cooked, you could smell the seasoning the second the plate hit the table and it was perfectly balanced with the waffles. True southern comfort food in the heart of Southern California. San Diego must!

This place is so fire!! The chicken and food is so on point and they balance all the seasonings so well ! This chicken is one of the best I’ve had in San Diego !! This place is affordable and for the price you get a lot of food ! Staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs. I got the fried chicken sliders with buffalo and bbq. The sauces are also on point !! If you’re looking for a place that has great food, this place is for you !

Tucked inside U-31, this is some of the best food in North Park and definitely the best chicken. After sampling the chicken & waffle dippers at a food festival, we knew we had to come back for more. There’s a quick and easy food kiosk at the back of U-31 and you can take advantage of the great bar service and music while you wait for/enjoy your food! We will definitely be back for more!

When I say this food is delicious. I’m not sure if they’re going to stay in the location they’re at because it’s inside a bar which was unexpected, but I will be back. Absolutely I will be back. Embarrassed because the food smelled so good I started eating before the camera which is so out of character for me but next time I will be sure to take good pictures. I am always nervous when chicken and waffles are served with breast meat because breast meat is notoriously dry but these were the most moist, most well seasoned chicken tenders I’ve ever eaten in my life and I am from Georgia. Delicious. Service was amazing, they are so kind and it really didn’t take long to get food. Highly recommend , 10/10. Also learned yesterday that the owners used to run Rhythm’s Chicken and Waffles in PB so if you’re familiar with that, definitely come over and taste what you’ve been missing.
