The cheese wheel pasta and Margarita pizza are my favorites! ❤️The northern Italian flavors are just so infused with basil and tomato flavor.

Good food and service. Only complaint is the restroom sink. Got soapy liquid but water would not come out the automatic faucet. Worse yet there were no paper towels. I later told the acting manager.

Came here with my brother and friends and it’s a great vibe, great food, and amazing customer service! We had the mushroom cheese pizza and carbonara! IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Unfortunately, I was too busy eating to take pictures but I would definitely recommend and would come back!

I love this place and take all my visiting family and friends here when touring them through SD for the best Italian in Little Italy. 💯

We went to Monello for pizza before and it was lovely, so today I wanted to try something different and I had the pasta with saffron and prawns, it was as good as my husband’s lasagna but overall the service was excellent and the atmosphere so great! We sat on a lovely marble round table, the lighting was soft and matched the ambiance.

Very good food, and not terribly expensive. Unfortunately, the service was lousy.

While the food was very good, the service and overall experience were lousy. Our waiter never even offered us driniks! He abruptly took our food order and never returned until we requested the check. He appeared to be completely overworked, and did not have any time for us. They were able to turn our table over in about 35 minutes, though - so hopefully the next couple got a glass of wine. I had a great meal here a few years ago, and was looking forward to returning. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back again.

One out of 3 appetizers was quite good, the buratta. The other two we were sorry we ordered. The fried risotto/beef cones were dry and meh, the dipping sauce for them stiff and overly rich, and the tartufo wraps had way too much wrap and too much sauce; you could hardly taste the mushrooms. The tortelloni tartufo with truffle was excellent, in a good white sauce. If we had ordered just the buratta and the pasta dish and a secondi, ratings might be higher.

Definitely must come try

This review was hard to do, because I was both disappointed beyond belief and amazed. So I’ll give the this review the best shot I’ve got.

First I ordered the spaghetti with ragu sauce. I always order spaghetti the first time I go to an Italian restaurant because, let’s be honest that should be easy for them right? Boy was I wrong, the ragu sauce was the worst sauce I’ve ever had in my life. It was bland, flavorless, absolutely horrible. The meat even tasted like they didn’t add a single speck of seasoning. The noodles were tough and undercooked. I’ve never sent pasta back in my life, this marked the first time, which was disappointing because of all the highly rated reviews. I was really looking forward to it.

After I sent back the pasta I got the Margherita Pizza. And let me say they absolutely made up for the pasta. It was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The crust was cooked perfectly, the sauce was generous, and the cheese was pulling off perfect. I fell in love with that Pizza. I ended up eating the whole thing. It was perfect in every sense of the word. I’d highly recommend the pizza stay away from the ragu sauce and spaghetti

Now the service was great. Our server couldn’t have been more kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Our drinks never went empty and she checked in almost perfectly each time with us. Never asked us questions with our mouths full of food, or interrupting while we were talking. I’d go as far as to say she is probably top 10 servers I’ve ever had in my life.

Overall I’d still come here again, even though the pasta was horrible the pizza made up for it. And having such a great experience with the server helped even more.

Wish I could give this a higher rating but alas I cannot. Our server Daniel was fantastic but the Happy Hour food not so great - the appetizers of cauliflower and calamari were fine but the arugula prosciutto roll and the cheese pasta did not measure up ...

Delicious meal but the best part was the
Service.
Ambiance is mellow and very cozy, the place makes you want to stay longer.
Food was delicious, we had a delicious pizza and pasta.

Jan was absolutely amazing! He was attentive, polite and served us with a smile! We will definitely come back mainly because of him

I ordered the penne with pesto sauce— it was overwhelmingly pesto — it should have been a hint — penne was dry which made the dish dry overall. My husband had the lasagne — just strange with a creamy interior layer that took away from the firm layered dish. My friend had the penne with a ragu sauce. “It's ok.” was her comment.

Monello was a great experience. The Cacio e pepe from the cheese wheel was incredible, as well as their lasagna.

Took my Fiancée for his birthday. The meatball appetizer was good. We each had a drink & ordered a bottle of wine to go with our dinner. I ordered the Pecorino Wheel special & he ordered the ravioli. When we got our food none of our noodles were cooked. The only thing that was warm on the ravioli plate was the sauce. We asked our server to make it right. They said "We are the best Italian in Little Italy!" & offered to get the manager. We told the manager that we would pay for everything we ate & drank but would not pay for the pasta dishes. We then finished our wine & left. The chef chased us down a half block to tell us to go F$%#k ourselves.
