If your looking for an inexpensive and affordable restaurant on San Diego's Convoy Street ( Asian Cultural District) then this is the place for you. Not only are the prices great but the food is delicious especially the curry dishes and their Skewers. The service is great and the servers are very friendly and outgoing. We have dined here twice already and we had a fantastic experience both times.

Monsta Ramen has the best Japanese curry in San Diego! Super nice people! I bought the pork cutlet curry…the rice is good, the pork cutlet is amazing, but the CURRY is ridiculously delicious! You cannot go wrong with ordering anything with the curry in it…

This place was so so so good! Everything is reasonably priced and their katsu curry was great. My partner and I went during happy hour to have their $3 beers! Highly recommend

I got the miso ramen and it was very bland. Employee there was super nice so I really wish I had better words to say about the ramen, but it was just not good.

Having grown up in Japan I was chasing the best katsu curry in town and happened onto this place when others were closed today, not only was this the best katsu curry I've found here, it was perfect! Throwing me right back to childhood! Not only that but everything else about the meal made this my favorite Japanese restaurant I have found in SD! I was shocked again when I tried their ramen...excellent!! Look no further for authentic flavors and happiness!

Place was practically empty when I got here. Ordered the Pork Cutlet Curry. It was absolutely delicious. I was surprised by the low cost, which made my experience that much better. Definitely will come back to try out more things from the menu. Looking to try their Ramen on my next visit.

Parking: Ample parking. However it is really busy during the weekends so it maybe be difficult to find parking right away Fridays and Saturdays.

Kid-friendliness: Family friendly restaurant.

This place is my go to for curry cutlets. I usually get the chicken cutlet curry with rice. The cutlet is cooked perfectly. The curry is very good. It is very similar to what you get in Japan. They give a really good portion and the price is good as well. Definitely a place to check out!

Great spot for a quick bite, delicious chicken bites and skewers, and yummy ramen with fresh noodles. Doesn't do much for me visually, but what's to be expected from a strip mall center. And the price point is just right.

Absolutely the best Japanese food. This reminds me of home, and it's really hard to find this kind of food in San Diego without your wallet getting destroyed.

Servings are huge, the curry tastes amazing, and the pork cutlets (tonkatsu/donkatsu) are absolutely insane. The volcano karrage bowl is also insanely good. But what's even better is the price of the food is averaging anywhere between 10 to 15. It's SUPER cheap compared to other locations where you come out sad with bad and expensive food.

The meals taste home cooked and remind me of Japan and Korea. I can wholeheartedly recommend the entirety of the menu as I have not tasted a single miss.

Service is also godlike, and if you use their online ordering, you can swing by and pick up food really quick.

This place is the definition of a true hidden hole in the wall gem, and I hope it is able to maintain how amazingly delicious and affordable the food is.

Parking: Located in the same plaza as olleh, so be aware you might have to look for parking depending on the night. I've always been able to find atleast 1 parking spot everytime I've gone so its really not too bad
