I decided to order takeout here because the Mr. Peabody's in Encinitas wasn't picking up & I live closer to this location on Friars Rd than the one located next to Moonlight Beach. Based on their menu, I ordered the NY Steak because it comes with potatoes and salad for under $20. The food was great but nothing mind-blowing. It's just your average diner food with super nice staff. Compared to the Encinitas location, the waitresses here look calm and relaxed. It was also a lot brighter & quieter so you're able to look at the menu without squinting. Unfortunately, they don't have live music in this location but they did have the basketball game playing on the television so I'll definitely be back to watch a game here sometime soon. Price: $$ Location: Close to Fashion Valley Mall Service: Friendly and attentive Parking: Plenty of spots after 8 pm Recommendations: I would go here for the chill & friendly bar atmosphere. They do cater to an older crowd.

Ordered 2 burgers on Uber eats and they only included 1. They wouldn’t even refund me partially for a missing order. Definitely don’t recommend coming here.

A great local pub. Always a friendly warm welcome here. There is outdoor seating with heat lamps if it gets a little crowded inside. I've only had the burger, which is delicious, so I can't comment on the other items on the menu. Friendly, warm community atmosphere. Oh! and the Guinness Rocks!!!!!!

Our friends are big fans of Mr. Peabody's Burgers and Ales and are frequent visitors. Becky and I were in the area on President's Day so we decided to stop in for lunch. Located in somewhat of an awkward, smallish strip mall on a slope. The parking spaces seemed small. We found a spot to back into. Mr. Peabody's is in the corner. We walked in and were warmly greeted and invited to sit anywhere. Our choices were the bar, a few high-tops in the bar area or a few booths in the main dining area. The place was relatively small. There was only one bathroom and it was a one-holer. Plan accordingly. We chose the bar and the lovely young woman who greeted us was Emily, our bartender. Pints were $4.50 and Becky's margarita was $7.50 - a bargain! We checked the menu and decided to share the Bang-Bang Beef Sliders and a side of fries. The sliders were three beef sliders with bacon, cheddar cheese and "bang-bang" spicy sauce. The friess were of the thinner variety. The sliders were money! Freshly cooked and juicy. The bang-bang sauce was bangin'! It carried a nice little kick. The fries were crispy and golden and it was a huge basket. Between the two of us we couldn't finish them. I asked for a side of ranch (delivered at no extra charge) and it was good quality ranch dressing. We loved the open "kitchen". I finger-quoted kitchen because it was literally a flat top with a deep fryer next to it located behind the bar. Rene and Pedro were the two dudes back there working their magic. We thought it was really cool to see three little balls of meat hit the flat top and become our sliders. We watched as our fries hit the oil, then drained and tossed in a bit of salt. Everything was in front of us mere seconds after Pedro was finished plating. Piping hot and fresh. We have friends who swear by the Mr. Peabody's turkey taco. ($1 off on Mondays). I really wanted one, but was too full to partake. Next time. Our favorite thing about Mr. Peabody's was the atmosphere. Emily was great! The woman next to us at the bar, a regular (perhaps an off-duty employee?) was great also. Everyone in the place was friendly. We were laughing it up with Emily, our bar mate and Rene and Pedo too! We wish Peabody's was closer to home, but we'll for sure make it back anyway!

This was a nice surprise to find off the beaten path near Fashion Valley mall. My friend had gone here 20 years ago and wanted to see if it was the same.

The food is pretty good, but the service is a little slow sometimes. I usually get the avocado and cheese quesadilla. Their French onion soup is also delicious. The ambience is all right, nothing spectacular. They have karaoke nights as well.

Yeah, so just to be clear the food the staff the atmosphere is good. Why I’m giving them two stars is the prices are RIDICULOUS. Blame it on whatever PRE COVID and no POST Covid. I don’t know where you should be paying $18.75 for one burger? No person should be paying over $50.00 for 2 burgers and 2 sodas. Seriously. Management really needs to reassess their menu price and make it more affordable in my opinion eventually im sure the general public will go elseWhere in time if they keep this up

What a surprise! I've never been to this place before, nor ever heard the name. But this place is a gem! They had the football on last night, and it's very cool that they don't turn their jukebox on during the game. All the food we ordered was very good! Carne asada fries, wings, carne asada nachos, sliders, and the carnitas plate. Everything was so good! Our server (I believe her name is Tenison, I'm sure I'm either wrong, misspelled the name or both) was very attentive, customer service was very on point. And the pour on those margaritas are on point . I highly recommend this place for a chill night, a pregame, or just watch the games and have some really good food and drinks!

Friendly neighborhood establishment that makes you feel welcome like a Cheers episode. Love their tater tots but the burgers/sliders are just okay. Turkey tacos are decent. Good place to go for a beer in unassuming surroundings.
