The service was very friendly. I ordered the two Chile Rellenos plate. The rice and beans were microwaved, the rellenos themselves were watery and the cheese was barely melted. I had asked about this place from other businesses in the area and they told me that it was hit-and-miss.

I stopped in here tonight to grab some food to go on the way home. I ordered a California burrito, a pollo asada taco, carnitas taco, and fish taco. $36! That much for three tacos and a burrito. They told me cash only, as well. The California burrito was alright. The pollo asada was dry, the carnitas was okay, crispy but a little dry, and the fish taco was just fish sticks. I wish I could give more than 2 stars, but I think it's a disservice to anyone reading this review. I went in with no expectations and came out with $36 of disappointment. If you're okay with expensive mediocre food, it's there. They could step it up, food is expensive these days, and I get it, rent too, but really the food was not great. It's a restaurant, they sell food, it should be at least enjoyable. El pollo loco is superior to here, and you'll get so much more for that price. The cashier was standard, just took my order, which is all I need, but did give me plenty of salsa! There are so many food options nearby, I won't be returning to this place unless the prices decreased and/or the food tasted better. I rarely judge a place after one visit, but there is no need for me to return.

DON'T GO!! I'm pissed to have spent $12 to get a fish burrito that has four tiny little fish sticks in it. Are you fucking kidding me. I've never been so insulted by the food at a taco shop

Wow, shoulda read the reviews before we pivoted for lunch at this joint!Orders were messed up, small portions, runny salsa and waaay over priced!Sorry, I hate leaving negative reviews but this one is deserved as many others have experienced as well!

Started coming to this place over 15 years ago. It gradually changed, and for the most part never went anymore because of the price and the ridiculously small portions. I decided to go back for a bean and cheese because it’s a nostalgic burrito for me. But it’s safe to say this’ll be the last time. $9 for this burrito. It makes me sad to know what Nico’s used to be in the neighborhood, and I wish they caught on and wanted to make things better. But they seem to care less.

Love Nicos. I have been going here for years. The breakfast burritos are great and not dripping with grease. They're reasonably affordable and never lack flavor.

This place is overpriced and the food is below average; what kind of taco shop serves a california burrito without pico de gallo?! Also their quesadilla leaves a lot to be desired; they make Taco Bell's quesadilla look like gourmet cooking

Who puts frozen fish sticks in fish taco? On top of that taco was sweet and salsa was bland.

We are so excited to see that Postmates delivers Nicos to our door in Mira Mesa from the Carmel Valley store. My son, Bobby, grew up with Nicos' son, Jose, in OB and we moved to MM 14 years ago. Even though it cost $45 to deliver two burritos, breakfast and fish, they were worth every bite! Nicos has the best burritos in town, especially the breakfast burritos! So we will treat ourselves to Nicos once in a while. If Jose ever gets to read our review, Bobby DuCharme says hey!

$20+ for the worst (and average to small) chilaquiles I have ever had in my life…by far.The chip were thick and VERY stale. The eggs were over-cooked with no yolk running as I ordered…and the chips were so hot (from deep frying the stale chips first), that they melted the styrofoam container…so ya, thanks for the poisonous food (other restaurants that you Styrofoam, put down where of aluminum foil to avoid this). And the next morning?Let’s just say my bathroom looks and smells like I ate street food in Tijuana.Never again, no way! Be warned.Parking: Shopping center in the morning, so plenty of vacancy.

This place has been a staple in the area for decades. The food is good, but I can’t justify coming here anymore & it bums me out. 75% of the time the order is wrong, & it’s frustrating spending upwards of $20 on a burrito & a drink, to not even get what you ordered more often than not. Can’t do it anymore.

Do not eat here! Yes it's clean and spacious but my husband and I came to eat thinking we were going to get good customer service & good food. Let me tell you, the lady at the register had a sour face, the cook was on her phone. As the lady was taking our order I asked her for 4 tacos, and my husband ordered a burrito with sour cream. We got our food and my husbands burrito had No sour cream and my tacos were yellow corn medium sized tacos with toppings on it, the lady taking our order didn't mention that there huge! Or asked if toppings were ok what if I was allergic? Or disliked tomato? I couldn't finish eating the other 2 they were huge the taco meat had no flavor! A older man came in to order food and he asked for little lettuce on enchiladas, however when he got it, it had a lot of lettuce & he was charged 1$ for it., really?!? I won't be back.......
