A quiet, comfortable place for lunch. The staff members are courteous and knowledgeable regarding the menu items. The menu is carefully curated and offers something for most everyone.
Great place to have lunch with friends. The restaurant is quiet so you can carry on a conversation without competing with the background noise. The food is exceptional and the wait staff is friendly, helpful, and accomodating. Feels like a special occasion every time I've dined there.
Lovely, QUIET yet pleasant, environment for a meal. Such a pleasure not to have to endure the current loudness of restaurants, where you can't hear what your friends are saying across the table. The service is excellent and attentive without being overdone. Worth going just for the Popover, strawberry butter and fresh broth....A Neiman Marcus Tradition that luckily hasn't been dropped for not being trendy. Also, walking through the gift department when entering and leaving adds to the joy. Beautiful pieces of art, decor, dinnerware, glassware, that bring joy just to view. If you''re lucky, you might have clothing modeling by gracious ladies. (No I don't work there, but have eaten there for years)
My husband would have taken me anywhere for dining on Mother's Day. I chose NM Cafe! The food is always delicious. The service is top notch. And there is always a new and interesting cocktail on the menu. We had the 1907 Cocktail this visit. It was D! So this is Mother's Day and this is Neiman Marcus so of course our server brings a generous side of fresh strawberries and cream with a chocolate drizzle along with my warm chocolate cookie for dessert!
Very good service, my salad was very fresh and the way I ordered it. My salmon unfortunately had that bitter aftertaste. Otherwise well cooked.
Something about this place has changed on the service and front desk. Just not as friendly.
Love this spot for a lunch with friends. Quiet enough for good conversation. Severs very friendly.
We had Eddie as our waiter today. He was delightful! I had the chicken tortilla soup which was delicious. I love NM cafe because it's never too noisy and the food is always good.
Bad service been waiting for the waiter to take the order for over 20 min, is not to full but the service just takes to much time, great food.
Always rave about ehe chicken salad souffle, chicken broth and popovers. Never disappoints.

Our waiter was incredibly helpful. He was aware of us and arrived seconds before we needed a refill or more of something or whatever. He went above and beyond the call of duty, even checking with the chef to get the answer to a question.
FAVORITE SAN DIEGO SPOT FOR A DELICIOUS LUNCH . Always an extraordinary experience both in cuisine and service. The little cup of hot chicken broth they bring you immediately is sumptuous as is their warm popovers they bring you while you review the menu. My favorite is their chicken salad plate. Always a wonderful treat.
Always such a wonderful setting, especially for after shopping or business lunches. The service is impeccable and the food always consistently great!
We had a lovely Valentines Day lunch. Consistent excellent wait staff and also consistent food quality makes this a favorite place for lunch in San Diego
Three waiters were ill and the staff explained ( after our waiting a long time) the reason for our 20 minute wait to be seated in an almost empty restaurant. We were given a cookie as an apology. Once seated the service was fine.
