This place takes liberal coffee shop in LA to the next level, which would be cool if only they made good drinks. Me and my friends ordered a combined total of 10 drinks, none of which were particularly good. The matcha was kind of just warm milk, and the vanilla latte tasted like water. I added packets of sugar to it, but the sugar didn't quite dissolve, so it just sat at the bottom of my drink like sand, a little crunchy surprise whenever I sipped my drink! The workers were lovely though.

My husband and I stopped in for the first time yesterday on a hunt for our new regular coffee shop, and a friend recommended OB Beans. Eddie (not sure if that was his name, but he was very proud to be Welsh) was incredibly friendly and helpful with the guests ahead of us, and proceeded to do a complete 180° when we approached. He outright glared at my husband, did not offer any insight on the shop, roasts, or menu, and did not say more than 'what do you want?' & '$10.50'.. very disappointed as the iced coffee (which Eddie poured....we wanted out as soon as he asked our order) was good. Maybe the sunshine hasn't quite helped his vibe just yet. He'll definitely need an attitude adjustment before the tourists come to town.
TLDR; great shop for an average coffee and terrible customer service.

The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere.
We ordered an Americano and banana bread.
The coffee and banana bread were both delicious.

I had ordered a coffee to stay, and specifically asked for the coffee to be served in a ceramic cup to avoid waste and drinking microplastic. It came in a paper cup. While the barista offered to pour it into a ceramic cup, that defeated the purpose of my request. She also offered to remake it…
The tagline here is “doing good” and I commend their efforts. But ponder for a moment where all those paper cups go 30 minutes later. Multiply that by all the coffee shops that serve this way, post pandemic. It’s not sustainable.

One of my favorite coffee shops ever. The best drinks ever. I especially love their iced matcha, and everyone who works here is so kind. Recommended!!

This is a really nice coffee shop and the quality of coffee, dairy and non diary options, as well as the pastries were excellent!

Always forget something from the order and when asked about it they continue to ignore it. Wish their service was half as good as the coffee

I'm in the minority of coffee drinkers that mostly drinks black pour over coffee - no sugary or milky beverage here, I want to taste the notes present from the multiple processing methods. Although I do also love espresso as much as any avid coffee drinker.
This is one of the few places that still does pour overs and they have two good options usually. For a true pour over nerd there's a step missing in the process of rinsing the coffee filter. I know I'm nit-picking here but not rinsing the natural paper filter before adding the coffee defiantly impacts the flavor. Especially with the brown filters they leave a "filter" taste that can easily be tested by just pouring hot water through the filter w/o coffee and tasting it.
Beyond this meaningless point (and likely a personal preference) this place is great! It would probably be a huge ask for them to train all their staff on this as pour over coffee is probably only 10-20% their daily sales and arguably already an involved process. It can get pretty packed in here the ambiance is commuter type touristy but I have come in with a wet swimming suit no problem it is OB after all.
