Walking On Water Cafe (former - Ocean Beach Pier Cafe since 2009)

Closed permanently? The pier is locked off from public access since February 2024. The building is beyond the locked gates and covered in graffiti. The phone number is disconnected.

It's not really about the restaurant. Of course it would be nice if they would update their voicemail to state that they aren't open. So we didn't haul our butts over here and try to find parking just to find out the pier is closed.

My last visit, 1975, though living here..was waiting for city 2 to allow customers..excellent summer days reward.. history lessons on the walls, basic menu with multitude of choices..great waiter n chef staffing..prompt service..affordable..enough 2 take a box home..Local folks, let's turn out for this outstanding family landmark

I forget to take a photo of my lobster omelet, but I was hungry! Lol Very neat place to grab a bite on pier. Outdoor seating or in the little shack. Nothing but good things to say!

Run down low in king place. arrived 20 minutes before supposed closing at 8pm. Wanted to order to go. Was denied service and told they close when when business drops. Unbelievable. I paid $20 for parking and couldn’t even eat dinner. Hello. There’s no parking and hours of operation should be modified to include hours that day may include earlier closure. Wasted $20 for parking just turned away. Call first. Do yourself a favor. Save the money. Eat elsewhere.

The first place that I visited on my trip to San Diego was this cafe. My lunch was amazing and the service was excellent. Ruth even helped me and my sister navigate our way to the bus stop so that we could get to our hotel safely. The food, service, and scenery were all amazing. I definitely recommend this cafe!!

The quality of seafood is just as good as its unique location.

Delicious food, excellent and friendly service, right on Ocean Beach pier. We love visiting when in town and look forward to next time.

I had a fish sandwich which came with wonderfully crispy fries for only $10. It was by far the best fish sandwich I’ve ever eaten. I loved the walk to the end of the pier to the restaurant and really loved the atmosphere.

That burrito looks as good as it tastes. ENJOY !

Watched the dolphins in the sun! Great food, even better service! Try the pancakes!

This place is so good. The food is spectacular, and spectacularly cheap for it's quality. The waitress was very polite as well. 5 stars, I recommend the Mexican Omelette.
