Did not live up to expectations. Highly recommended but will not eat here again. Entire experience was fair. Didn't care for the food. Portions were small. Taste was so so. Pizza was flimsy. Salad greens were cheap. I eat better at home. Very expensive for what you get. Don't recommend.
Out with friends at lunch. Everything was really good. The patio was wonderful for us and the service spit on! I will definitely come back to enjoy my day. This was good!!
Our waitress Kiki was so great!! Making sure we were satisfied with everything, going next mile with my cocktail!
Loved the environment and our waiter was very friendly! Pizza was very good! Only thing, their water isn't good at all very tappy with weird after taste.
Very slow service. Server didn't know the menu...maybe he was new. Very friendly, but I was told the pasta sauce I ordered wasn't super creamy, and mostly marinara. The opposite was true. It was like eating glue. My friend said her lasagna wasn't up to what she had experienced on previous visits. He had too many tables and so drinks came out slow, no check in to see if we needed anything extra for our meal until we were almost finished. Then it took over 30 minutes after finishing to get his attention to get our bill. I don't blame the server. I definitely won't go back.
Took 20 minutes just to get drinks. Server was friendly, but got our order wrong. Pizza was good, but was kinda salty. The carbonara was the worst I've ever had. Panna cotta was decent. All in all, wasn't really worth it. The regulars at the table next to us said that this place used to be a lot better, but it's gone downhill.
This was the first time ( out of many we have visited this restaurant) we felt underserved, and an afterthought. There was some sort of large group of teens in tuxedos and disco dresses, that made for long lines for the restroom, messy restrooms ( not attended to enough to remain clean), rushed but slow service, things were forgotten or all brought out at once - there was no pacing, and nowhere to put the food that was brought out prematurely, and lost its correct temperature by the time we were ready to eat it- it was a really botched up evening. I received a teaspoon to eat my soup- really? And we had to wait 20 minutes for the decanter of water— and another 5 minutes for glasses- were all of your utensils and equipment used up, or in the dishwasher? Had waiters called in sick and you were operating on a skeleton staff? If so, why were reservations still accepted despite you being unprepared to serve your customers properly? What a poor dining experience.
Things have changed , waitress was rude , never saw her . Food has gone down in quality . Used to be the best around
The reservation was not honored. The path up to the hostess was packed full of people shoulder to shoulder and the hostess was absent most of the 30 minutes I waited. We then had to wait at the table for 40 minutes until they took our order. The food was good, but not as good as the South Park location.
The food was delicious. We arrived on time for our 6:30 reservation. We were seated at 6:45. Our meals were served at 8:10pm. The restaurant was incredibly noisy, with the constant screeching of metal chairs rubbing against cement floors. The waiter was taking care of around 20 tables with very little assistance. I realize it was not the waiter's fault, as the restaurant was incredibly understaffed. Not going back any time soon.

Not particularly enjoyable. This very popular location was so overbooked on a Saturday early evening that a 6:15 reservation did not even get checked in until 6:30 and then it took another 15 minutes to be seated. They were severely understaffed, with a ration of one wait staff for 15 tables in our section. It took another ten minutes before a server came to the table. The nicely prepared cocktails arrived after our dinner had been served. The food was noticeably undercooked. One member of our party left the table to use the restroom and the wait staff tried to convince the remaining dinners to take the rest of the meal home in boxes. Perhaps a weeknight or lunch runs smoother than this particularly frenzied Saturday night.
Our food was delicious as always. Service wasn't as good, we kept having to get our waiters attention.
My wife is lactose intolerant, so we don't eat pizza often, but we tried the "vegan" pizza at Buona Forchetta in South Park, and it was delicious. We had an event at Liberty Station and chose to go to this place because of the good experience we had in the other location. We ordered a salad and a pizza with vegan cheese (lactose-free). The salad was soggy from the dressing, and the cheese on the pizza didn't melt. Also, the pizza was extremely salty; this might have been due to what we ordered, but they should have at least warned us. Very disappointed—nothing like the one in South Park.
Great spot, love the build your own pasta option! Cannolis for dessert were delicious and perfect to share.
We've been to other Buona Forchetta locations and the Liberty Station location earns high praise. Food and service were excellent. San Diego weather and outdoor seating made our evening dinner an even better experience. The only down side with the location, is the noise from planes from nearby airport. Highly recommend Buona Forchetta and we will return when family comes to town later this month.
