This is a restaurant in Old Town San Diego where you can enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine! The exterior and interior are colorful, and the cheerful atmosphere will further excite your travel mood. We recommend the tacos and enchiladas made with freshly made tortillas, all of which are very filling! It's fun to watch how the tortillas are made in the store. There is also terrace seating, making it a great location on sunny days. The staff is friendly and the service is attentive, so even first-timers can easily enjoy the experience. The prices are reasonable and it's a perfect place to go with family or friends!

Whenever we go to Campland on the Bay, we try to get to Old Town Mexican Cafe. Their food is always great and so are the margaritas. We'll bring back to the RV a dozen of their hand made tortillas; corn and sometimes flour. They both are so good.
The only downside is finding a place to park. We took the bus this time. Loved it.
Dined in at Old Town “Mexican” Cafe - excited to try their food which quickly turned into disappointment. Starting from the really bad service we received.. after getting our food, our server disappeared and never checked in on us and after 40~ minutes he brought us the check even though we didn’t ask for it (way to ask how was everything and if we wanted dessert).. he also seemed high.. The food was lacking flavor - tried the white pozole which was very salty and their taquitos had no seasoning whatsoever. Their horchata also is not fresh!
I’d suggest you skip this place or any “Mexican” place in Old Town! If you’re looking for authentic food visit Cocina de Barrio or Javier’s

Ok. Food is really bad. Tried quesadillas, chicken wings and enchiladas. Really bad quality. Doesn’t taste like anything. How could you make Mexican food this bad? Oh $13 avocado dip is literally canned avocados. Overall really disappointed and would never come back. Prices were ok though

The vibe of this place is really good but we didnt have the greatest service. Our waiter spilled soda on my husband (complete accident) but didn't really check on us much after that. He didnt even bring us the complimentary chips and salsa until after asking two times for it. He was very standoffish and didnt check on us once during the meal. The food had really good flavor but for how steep the prices are I expected bigger portions. The homemade tortillas are to die for though, you can't go wrong with corn or flour!!
