I come to Mission Beach for at least 2 weeks every autumn and have been doing so since I lived and worked here for 3 years in the 80’s. Ever since the Olive opened it has been my “go to” breakfast place. I’ve seen it change structurally over the years but what never changes is the excellent quality of the food and even more so the phenomenal friendliness of the staff (some who are here year in year out but also those who change every year). This year Sofia has served me most days and has remembered my name and my orders….. such a welcoming attribute! What should you eat? Anything… it’s all good. My favourite is the breakfast quesadilla See you next year guys x

Not only was the food served cold, but it was very bland. I ordered my son a mango smoothy and there was no mango flavor. It tasted like banana. I had to clean the table from the pervious customer and search for a server to wipe the table off.

We were brought here by locals and now I understand why! This place is great. We came here for brunch and loved it.
You wait in line to order and find available seating. They have outdoor and indoor seating, but overall it's not a huge place. People usually are coming and going fairly quickly though.
We tried the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and the Breakfast Quesadilla. Both were so delicious! Would get them again no doubt! They also have a great coffee menu, too.
Really enjoyed the vibe here! It's only 1 block off of Mission Beach which is perfect for a post-brunch walk or beach day. Definitely add Olive Cafe to your list!

Quick walk from our rental before heading to comic con. Our group had the egg breakfast, a smoothie, an acai bowl, and a granola bowl. All were fresh and tasted great. Will definitely go back before we leave. Even though they were busy, service was top notch and personal. And not just with me but with all the customers I observed.
This place has the best food on Mission Blvd! I would have taken a picture of the plates we had but it didn't last long enough! Mmmmmm. Love this place, location, food and everything.

Great beach setting but had a very poor experience. We went for breakfast and ordered the breakfast burrito on a gluten free tortilla to share, the tortilla came very highly recommended by the cashier. Paid ahead of time, including a tip, making our one-item meal close to $20 once we paid extra for this GF tortilla. We proceeded to wait at our table for over 30 minutes before the food runner came to tell us that they were out of gluten free tortillas. She offered us some alternatives so we decided to take it as a bowl with tortilla chips. She didn’t offer to refund us for the gluten free tortilla, didn’t offer an apology for the extended wait time, but did tell us that we could go ask for our money back if we wanted. We waited another 10mins for our underwhelming food to be served to us on tiny side plates. Sorry, but it is terrible to make the customer ask for a refund when it was the business who erred, and it is terrible to ask your customers to tip you before you’ve provided the service. Our bad for not switching our order when they told us our original order wasn’t available, but it seemed easier to modify it slightly vs make a whole new order, especially when we were hungry and tired of waiting already. Lesson learned!
