An unassuming place with delicious food.

We ordered the baked fish with potatoes and olives, well with the 45 minute preparation time. We also got the pasta with clams and a white sauce. Both delicious. Service was professional and timely.

Food is consistently good, but not worth it for the quality of service. The restaurant was a less than half full and it took 15 minutes for anyone to greet us or acknowledge us at the door. Once seated, no one spoke to us for 30 minutes and when they did they set water on our table and asked what we want without any greeting or explanation of the menu. We asked for bread and asked what the specials were and for a few minutes to decide. It took another 20 minutes to see our waitress again. We’d been at the table for at least 45 minutes at this point and still didn’t have bread. We ordered and received our entrees about 15 minutes later and still hadn’t received bread. We finally got bread after being at the restaurant for over an hour. Service was terrible and we were hardly ever acknowledged. The lack of service would have been understandable if it was busy but the restaurant was less than half full all night and never seemed to be in a rush.

What an incredible place! We have lived down the street for over a year and never found a time to go. It was everything we expected! The food was incredible and we absolutely loved the authentic feel. Since they don’t serve alcohol, we brought our of wine & wine glasses to get the full Italian experience.

We had the absolute best time at Oltre Mare! Sara and the entire team were so accommodating and welcoming with our group of 25. The food was outstanding — everyone raved about the Wild Boar Pappardelle, and the pizzas, vongole, and desserts were all delicious. It was a fun, relaxed evening, and they were so helpful with our BYOB setup. Thank you, Sara, for taking such wonderful care of us and making the night so memorable!

This place was amazing! We were 12 people and they put us in a separate dining room which was cozy and semi-private. They did family style so everyone could try everything. Really authentic food and warm inviting ambiance.

Let me start with love by expressing my food was amazing. It was flavorful & delicious. In addition, it was extremely busy, which is typically an indication that people enjoy the food.

However, I feel compelled to leave a negative review, due to what I experienced while I was in the restaurant. It was distasteful, and quite honestly racist.
I walked in to pickup my online order. One lady, rushing back and forth between various tables and the kitchen, smiled to acknowledge me as she speed walked past, then on her return walk asked if I could wait. A callback to the love included at the start of my review, it was jam-packed + people in there were pretty boisterous… So of course I had no issue waiting. I smiled back, mouthed ‘okay’, and patiently waited because it was obvious she was dealing with a lot. At that time, I was the only person waiting to pickup/ be seated. By the time another lady walked out of the kitchen, maybe 4-5 minutes later, there was now one person behind me waiting to pickup her takeout order and 3 others groups/couples waiting for tables behind her. The lady came out of the kitchen walked right past me, greeted each of the patrons behind me asking if they were there to dine in or pickup before returning to me standing in front of everyone else. When she got to me she didn’t ask me anything, she just stared. we had an awkward silence of staring before I had to say I’m here to pick up MY order.
Understand this… I’m in town visiting from the east coast. I love Italian food. We google searched for the best Italian restaurants near our hotel And this restaurant popped up with great reviews. I have one sister-in-law that is Italian , two of my brother-in-laws are Italian. I include these personal details within my review only to emphasize how dumbfounded i was by the mistreatment I experienced by that lady. I was embarrassed. I advise anyone black or brown, take heed of my experience. I’d rather spend my money where I’m treated fairly.

Soooooo good! The gnocchi is delicious! The pizza is authentic.. the apps are just yummy, but not too filling. The environment is very authentic. The owner, Sarah and her husband are so kind, and passionate. We even went here after our engagement, a perfect spot for celebrations, date nights, and families! Don’t sleep on oltre mare! Yummmmm!

Mixed bag. Loved the owners and the food. They recently doubled the size of their restaurant but they didn’t hire any more staff so they are massively overwhelmed. No liquor license so you have to bring your own. Which is fine if you know about it. Most people don’t. So bottom line is food is very good but atmosphere and service is lacking.

A cozy, friendly, family environment. Probably the best restaurant I've been to in a long while and reminds me the last time when i was in Italy. The service need a lot of improvement but the most important the food was delicious! A good plate presentation, portions not too big, not too small, and ragu di cinghiale was rich in flavor. I would go back there in a blink of an eye.
Also bring your wine!
