My daughter and Son in law gifted us a gift card for Osteria Panevino, and we were in town for concert. Made a reservation, and got right in. Service was amazing, and ambiance was perfect. We sat out on outside patio, and was perfect. Was still a little chilly for an April evening, but had heat warmers that made it quite comfortable. I had the lobster linguine, and it was absolutely delicious. Portion was large, and could have been shared. Everyone in party enjoyed their meal. It was a great dining experience, and will definitely be back!

Awful service and food was served cold. Server gave us the wrong bill and chased us outdoors. We had to go back inside, credit our visa card and pay a different amount. Would not recommend!

Dinner was memorable, but not necessarily in the best ways. The atmosphere reminded us of Italy. The food was well presented. Service was less than adequate - it started out ok (the waiter did cringed when he discovered our party had two toddlers - they were well behaved and quiet); he refused to acknowledge the women at our table, only speaking to the men; service almost disappeared when the woman at the table discovered her filet was rancid (surprised the cook and the waiter could not smell how rancid the steak was - it perfumed the table) - they replaced the meal briskly, and compt her drinks. The steaks were ok - fat not rendered, but did have a nice char. The lambs chops were generous, but again not rendered. The calamari looked beautiful, but were over cooked; the stuffed squash blossoms were over battered. The accompanying mash were perfect, and the micro greens were a nice touch, arugula was arguably over used as a garnish, but the battered fries in the children’s plates were crispy, tasty and the best rated part of our meal. We did not have dessert - we couldn’t find our waiter, until we’re all ready to restart our night.Kid-friendliness: The have a nice selection for children; the battered fries were great!

Wrong meal delivered. Correct meal arrived pretty quickly. Chicken Toscano was awful. White meat very dry. Mashed potatoes watery. Menu not same as posted on Open Table. Restaurant very busy so service was a bit slow. Noise level so loud we could not have a conversation. I was very disappointed.

We celebrated a wedding anniversary here, the night of a huge Petco concert. They seated us at our requested table and though the place was crazy busy, managed to take our order with a smile and get our food to us quickly. The very fresh pasta was piping hot and wonderful! The salmon salad came w a Huge piece of tasty fish. Our friends secretly reminded the stressed waiter it was our anniversary and he greciously took time to surprise us with a delicious piece of tiramlsu - and a lit candle! Osteria Panevino provided an amazing start to very special date - but we'll be back again (on a quieter night!).

I came for the happy hour (Monday to Sunday from 4-6) and I loved it. They have good prices for wine, beer, well drinks and martinis and also for food. Half off pizzas and appetizers. I got a glass of Sauvignon that was a house wine and it was great. Usually they don't have variety in house wines during happy hours but they good choices. Next time I'm coming to try the food! The staff was very nice and attentive.

We recently had the chance to experience a chef's tasting at Osteria, and honestly, it blew us away. It's not every day you walk into a place and feel immediately taken care of, but that's exactly what happened. We were greeted warmly and seated in the outdoor patio, which was cozy and inviting. The evening kicked off with some White Zinfandel and red wine. The Zinfandel was light, refreshing, and had a nice aroma, while the red wine was just the right kind of medium-bodied, making it an excellent start to our meal. The service throughout the night was top-notch; our server was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. He even brought out some warm bread with white butter, which was a simple yet perfect beginning. The chef's tasting menu was full of surprises, starting with a burrata caprese salad. The presentation was impressive, and the salad itself was incredibly fresh and tasty. Then came the eggplant parmesan, which honestly changed my mind about eggplant. I've never been a big fan, but this dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The pesto ravioli followed, and it was as good as we hoped--creamy, flavorful, and just a joy to eat. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the dish was a highlight of the night. Ending on a high note, the dessert was a Tiramisu that exceeded our expectations. Not overly sweet, the dessert had a perfect balance of coffee and chocolate, and the moistness of the cake was spot-on. Overall, the chef's tasting at Osteria was a standout experience. It wasn't just about the food, which was exceptional, but also about the warmth and care from the staff. It definitely changed my view of the restaurant for the better, making it a top recommendation for anyone in the Gaslamp District looking for quality Italian cuisine.

Our diining experience began with a waiter that refused to focus on us. After several unsucessful attempts to get his attention we notified the manager of the problem, and he did an excellent job of turning a very negative start into a positive dining experience. The manager waited on us personally, discussed the menu entrees and the specials in detail, and made recommendations that worked very well for us. Thanks to the manager's actions and his very professional service we will be happy to return.

We had the the cacio y pepe gnocci and the mushroom risotto. Both were very good although a bit too salty. There was a good selection of wines, including for wines by the glass. We didn't have dessert as the choices were not tempting. The service was attentive but got distracted when some larger parties came to the restaurant. The ambiance was nice, relaxed, great for larger gathering, but not a quiet dinner for two. Nevertheless, it was a nice experience.

A group of 5 of us had a wide variety of dishes, the best being the charcuterie plate. Others included a seafood pasta special, Osso Buco, chicken parmigiana, Pollo Toscana. Appetizers we had included bruschetta, beef carpaccio. Wine and drinks were decent. The service was good - no issues whatsoever! The food was just really mediocre- salads were not fresh, chicken was bland and overcooked.

Very authentic Pappardelle Al Ragu/Bolognese, as the pasta was silky smooth! Service was top notch, Caesar Salad had just enough dressing, shaved Parmesan Cheese and toasted bread!! This meal reminds me of being in Italy with my Dad, as I'll never forget how delicious the pasta was over there! If he were still alive he'd love this! I would certainly recommend this Italian Restaurant!!
