Way too much rice on the rolls and the fish wasn’t cut properly, so it was very chewy some pieces.

Been coming here for years! This is a staple for my daughter and I! She is 8 now and loves sushi. They are so patient with us and are understanding by the excessive mess left after her soy sauce obsession. Very good quality and relaxing date night.

Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly!

We ordered it completely by accident and were pleasantly surprised by the price and quality. We'll come again!

Ototo Sushi in Clairemont is such a good sushi spot. The fish is always super fresh, and the rolls are very good. Whether you’re ordering classic sushi or trying one of their specialty rolls, you can’t go wrong.

The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is so friendly and attentive.

We’re big fans of supporting local gems, and Ototo Sushi is one we’ll be raving about to friends and clients. If you’re in Clairemont and craving high-quality sushi, this is the place to go.

I witness this service lady that was rude at this restaurant while l was dining today. Shes giving an attitude to delivery drivers Never come here and probably spit on your food. The staff looked overwhelmed that she took her frustration on the delivery drivers. I later asked for my receipt and left after witnessing the customer service staff being rude to multiple drivers asking for their orders.

-Tonkotsu $14.50– the flavor was just ok nothing special. I also didn’t like the fact that my soup broth was not hot.
-Dynamite $13– overloaded w mayonnaise.
-Rainbow $13– the roll was filling.
-Crunchy $7 HH plus eel $3– adding eel atop the roll was a good choice.
-California $5 HH
-Salmon Kama $5 HH– good portion. Perfectly cooked.
-Sake $5 HH

Our waitress gave us the courtesy of checking to see if we wanted to order more food before the Happy Hour ended.

We enjoyed our experience. The place was happening and had customers going in and out constantly.

Note:
Best time to beat dinner crowd is to arrive before 5pm. Otherwise, there’s a wait.

WOW! I ordered sushi for my pregnant wife and I, she wanted the Picasso roll, no yellowtail( raw ingredient) and a staff member went out of his way to call me to sub the protein. I explained that she was pregnant, he understood and offered to cook it for her. You can’t tell me that doesn’t deserve 5 stars! Good job to the team there!

Great $5 items on happy hour. I got a roll, kama and beer for under $20.

Very nice servers but bummed when I sat at the bar and asked to watch the US Presidential debate, they said no and kept it on 2 foreign soccer teams instead. I looked around and no patrons were watching... and I was the only one at the bar. I had to watch on my phone and go home early. Oh well ??‍♀️ I always thought patrons had more say about what's on tv, but maybe not here?

I work in the same plaza and this is my absolute go to if I need something quick before or after work, or somewhere to bring my family and friends for a good meal.
Don’t sleep on the happy hour deals. I get the garlic edamame every single visit without a doubt and definitely would suggest trying to Bruce Lee roll if you can it’s fantastic.
Foods really consistent every time and the staff is always so friendly and accommodating.
