Great sushi and chicken teriyaki! Service was slow but friendly. My wife finished her hot dinner before my sushi was served. Nonetheless the sushi was superior and I loved the Mr. Miyga and Point Break rolls.

Great quality and consistently delicious. I've been visiting this location since even before the day the name changed to Ototo.

Can’t believe we hadn’t tried this place sooner. Food and service were both amazing. No wait since we went relatively late and the atmosphere was great. We got the Fireball, Point Loma and a few others but all were great which is surprising because most sushi places mess up at least one roll lol. Would recommend!

I ordered two salmon nigiri on uber eats from this place and they only put one in the bag. Worst of all, uber support is useless and the driver ghosted me. That part isn’t the restaurants fault, but someone should have confirmed what I ordered before sending it out
Maybe it was a one-off, but the service was very slow. We ordered an appetizer which arrived after our first entree. The first entree arrived promptly (about 10 minutes after ordering), the next entree arrived about 30 minutes after ordering. And the rest after that. We just ordered cold sushi rolls and sashimi; nothing cooked or complicated. The food was delicious. We sat outside in the patio which a nice option.

Outstanding Service & Incredible Sushi!
I had an amazing experience at Ototo Sushi Co., thanks especially to Aldrin. He’s a friendly young man with excellent customer service and great knowledge of the menu. He recommended the Mr. Miyagi Roll, and it was absolutely incredible.
The food and service were so good that I came back again tonight before leaving town. I’m here on business, and finding this place was a pleasant surprise.
If you’re in San Diego and looking for a great sushi spot, this is it. Highly recommend, and definitely ask for Aldrin!

Came here for dinner with my wife and really enjoyed the sushi 🍣 rolls. The standouts and favorite rolls were the Bruce Lee and the Point Break rolls. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the rolls.

Good sushi and related fish dishes, but not a relaxed place. Our most recent visit, the chefs standing behind the bar continuously chat very loudly with each other and with the wait staff in Spanish about non restaurant matters. We almost couldn't have a table conversation. Request a table near the windows if you want to have private conversations where you can be heard. Hopefully the staff will recognize that clients have priority and come for a relaxing dinner.

I visited Ototo with my family where I was able to order sushi rolls without rice (dietary need) - ototo roll, which is wrapped in cucumber. This is excellent.
Everyone ordered their favorite sushi rolls along with appetizers: shishito peppers and edamame.
Everything tasted great.
