On our last trip to San Diego we visited this fresh pasta restaurant and had a great experience. The staff service was excellent and the pasta was perfectly cooked — you can tell it’s made from scratch. We tried the Bolognese, which was very tasty, and the creamy pesto with sausage, spinach, and mushrooms recommended by the FOH, which was delicious.
For the price, portion, and quality, it’s a great spot to enjoy real from scratch pasta in San Diego.

Unfortunately the food here is just average, maybe no better than the taste at some chain like an Olive Garden. It was severely lacking compared to the other fresh pasta options in San Diego. At first glance, it appears you’re about to consume some 10/10 authentic Italian pasta, but in reality, there was much left to be desired. Skip the add-on $1.50 garlic bread that’s a single tiny slice. The person working was nice.

Got the squid ink pasta with chickens and Alfredo sauce. It took like 15 mins for them to arrive. This place is packed and cozy. The pasta was fresh and buttery. Their flavors were good.

3 stars for me means average, and that’s how I felt about the food. I’m a big fan of fresh pasta, so I was excited to try Pasta Design at Liberty Station, but nothing really stood out.
I ordered a kids’ pasta ($9.99) for my son and a cheese ravioli with marinara for about $15. The portion felt a little small for the price.
Service was fine, and the food came out in about 15 minutes. I did like that I could walk around and check out other spots in the market while waiting.
Overall, I probably wouldn’t come back, especially with so many other options inside the market.

We ordered the la carne pasta: ziti
bolognese, sausage, broccoli, bacon rigatoni $15.99
Flavors were ok. It took food quite a long time to come out compared to the other food options.
Food was piping hot which was great. Flavors were ok...nothing out of the ordinary.
Person taking the order was half paying attention with an airpod in her ear so it was a bit annoying to constantly repeat myself on the order.
Fettuccine noodles were undercooked/stiff, fork too short for thick noodles/sauce, $12 worth it if convenient or Rad Burgers is busy

2nd time eating here.Key component is that this is craft pasta, it's not flour and egg alone. All the pasta have a non food coloring component to it or are a stuffed ravioli. My personal favorite is squid ink pasta, black.Pick your pasta, sauce, add a protein and your done. The pasta is not necessarily as tender as other pastas, but it appears to be hand made.I have had squid ink with spicy marinara, and squid ink with pesto as well I had ravioli stuffed with bacon and cheese. It's probably one of the only restaurants in the market that isn't a gimmick and is just the food.

First time here. Ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and was pleasantly surprised how well this tasted. Pasta was cooked as it should, not to soft or undercooked, sauce was very lite, yet not oily and not smothered over pasta. The chicken was tender. As an Italian, I’d say this is a good as it gets from a to go spot like this. Girl with pierced nose was should be grateful she was hired with her low energy, zero customer service. 10+ years ago, nobody would hire someone like her which indicates how desperate restaurants are for staff.
