Unfortunately, you can’t trust the hours of operation. Showed up at 2:08 PM and they declined to make a sandwich. Seems like a perfectly nice place reviews here are consistently positive but unless you show up by 1 o’clock, it’s hard to know whether you’ll get a sandwich or an apology.

Not great experience. Went to get a grilled cheese sandwhich around 2:30 PM but was told they don’t make sandwiches so close to closing time. They close at 3PM, what a shame!

They serve it up fat here. A half sandwitch typically works. Best value deli sandwich in San Deigo IMO.

I took my daughter here for breakfast after hearing how great it is from a friend and I was pleasantly surprised at the quaint store that awaited us. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was SO good! We ate outside and there was a beautiful view of the bay. The seating is on a deck above the water and it is so cool to know you're sitting above the bay! The man a the counter was very nice and helpful, the food is awesome, and the delicatessen itself is adorable 5/5🌟

If you talk to the owner he is nice! Just share a smile. The food is delicious and they are accommodating. The chocolate with pistachio is homemade and delightful. The price is worth the quality and quality. Wish I found this place on first day here instead of 2nd to last day.

I spent two weeks working at the boat yard right across the street and ate breakfast and lunch most days at Pearson Deli. They make the best damn sandwiches I've ever had. I live in Texas and sometimes (once a week) I wake up craving that awesome meatball sub!

The owners are old school so don't expect a fake greeting and a thank you. If you show them respect you will get a true welcome from some of the nicest folks I've met in San Diego.

If you want a sandwich, this is the place to go for the best ever. If you’re whining like some reviews and are expecting to go I there for therapy and someone to be your sounding board, go to a therapist.

Ordered the turkey club from the older gentleman. He was exactly as friendly as I would expect. Did he ask me how my day was or what my plans were for the week? No. But why would I expect that from a deli guy where my interaction with him is going to be 40 seconds? Not sure why some people felt this person is unfriendly he seems like every deli person who’s taken my order that I’ve experienced. Nice, not mean and to the point.

Anywho back to the sandwich. The turkey club was awesome! A huge sandwich that could’ve been split between two if you wanted. All ingredients tasted fresh! The crunch of the bacon was perfect - not over cooked where it might break a tooth and not undercooked. I prefer wheat bread so ordered the sandwich on that - bread was fresh and delicious.

Defintely coming back and recommending to everyone I know who won’t be offended when the older guy doesn’t engage in unnecessary banter.

Like most small businesses in this area the gentleman that’s runs the place is so unfriendly it appears he’d prefer you didn’t come in at all. Couldn’t even get him to tell me my total owed, I had to guess. Retire and be happy sir you clearly hate this job.

This is a fabulous deli, located in a boat launch and fishing hub. The sandwiches are made to order and have the freshest bread. The service is friendly with lots of pride and joy in the food. There is enough food for two meals under any circumstances. You can eat outside at a small picnic deck, but it's probably better to take the food to-go.
