Great chicken
Pelicana fried chicken is real original Korean chicken. So good!!!!
Best fried chicken in town. Best of the Korean scene and best overall. Their OG and the crispy are both amazing and airy light and salaciously juicy. Their sauces are some of the best as well.
Pelicana Chicken was a great takeout option experience. I first visited this location and used the kiosk to decide on what to order. But my friend and I had a lot of questions, so we asked the staff a lot of them. She was very nice and explained the differences and gave her recommendations.
We decided to get the signature chicken with sauces on the side. We got the original and honey mustard. We also got an order of the corn cheese. It didn’t take long for us to get our order and leave. However, when we got home, we noticed the radish was missing.
Overall, the food was really great. The signature sauce was better than the honey mustard. The service was fast and quick. We went on a Saturday around 4:30 pm and it wasn’t very busy. But the plaza parking was crowded. They do accept American Express at the kiosk.
The honey soy crispy chicken is delicious. We come down from Temecula for this and have to stop anytime we’re close by.
*** parking is really bad here only maybe 15 spots in front of the shop. Parking is around back, but it’s a paid lot not much street parking. Could possibly snag a spot in front of Hmart and walk over*
Came here on a Friday around dinner time, and we were immediately able to sit down you can choose which table.
They brought over water and copper iceberg salad with some sort of dressing .
You order everything off of the screen menu there’s not a lot of detail on each item like flavor description so you’re better off reading some reviews to understand the flavors of each sauce that aren’t self-explanatory. For example the signature sauce is a sweeter little savory sauce. It was nice to eat after a bite of the hot spicy.
Honestly, not a long wait after ordering to receive our food and it all looked delicious. We ordered two boneless wings of hot spicy and signature with an order of fries. It was hard to tell if the garlic fries had cheese on them so we passed.
The hot spicy is very hot. It’s a slow burn and keeps getting more intense the longer you let it marinate in your mouth. We easily drink through the whole bottle of water they provided. My level tolerance is the medium level at Dave’s, hot chicken or main chick. This was above it and made it hard to enjoy the flavor since it was so hot.
The signature sauce was nice to come back to you after a few bites of the hot. The chicken is well cooked good crispy chicken skin, and well saturated in sauce.
Fries were good but a little bland, but also a good neutral item to use against the heat levels .
There are free gloves on the table to use so you don’t have to get your hands dirty, which I appreciate in a little trashcan .
The only issue I had here was our screen died so there’s no way to call over for the final bill . I went up to speak to someone, and they were so slammed. Neither of the waiters were looking at the small crowd of people standing. After about 15 minutes, someone finally asked if we were all here for pick up, which I then said no I was here for the final bill.
That was the only issue I really had especially with one guy who kept looking at us, but went to prepare more complementary salads, wiped down tables and prepared the water bottles instead of just asking us if we needed help . I did try to grab his attention, but he was too fast.
Great customer service.... good chicken
Best Korean BBQ chicken in San Diego!!!
Really happy this spot has made its way to San Diego. The crispy plain bird was delicious—simple but done right. They also have versions with sauce that I’m sure are worth trying next time. What I appreciated most was that it wasn’t overly salty or oily, which made it feel a bit lighter. Perfect alongside a cold pint. They’ve got a solid lineup of local brews, plus Korean classics like soju and beer if you're in the mood. Portions are generous and ideal for splitting with a group. Bonus: parking was a breeze on a Saturday afternoon.
as far as the fried Korean chicken goes, it’s not the best place but this is the only place that’s open till late and has a lot of other menus as well.

Great service, better food. Spicy did not disappoint
Service was good. Chicken was ok. Für $20 9 pieces I found it a bit pricey. Juiciness and crunchiness I l prefer other places like don chicken. The signature sauce is what I tried. It’s alright. Wouldn’t make my way out for it
I'm not really sure. Today i went to order chicken, whole chicken original hot sauce and another half crispy chicken for to go. I didn't check my order at the restaurant, and I went back home. It's turn out they both are same sizes of box ( small ones ) , my whole hot sauce chicken came with one leg, it means it's only half chicken order, am I CORRECT?
I couldn't do anything because my sister already ate, and didn't take a picture, she didn't know.
Ps, I've been to Pelicana many times.
And I would be a lot appreciate, if you could please check my order, if not, that's fine.
Edit** I decided to call them, I was told that they gave me the wrong order and they will give me half chicken back. Thank you, I feel relief!!
