I am 12 and I went down with other friends of mine to get ranch, the bartender lady was very rude, and rolled her eyes at us, and quote " let me get these kids out of here." To other patrons. Her comments made us uncomfortable and not welcome at the pelican. As guests of the Hyatt this is unacceptable!

Great casual lunch near the pool and overlooking the marina. The brisket tacos were delicious. Our server Laura was super cool and made our experience even better.

It's overpriced, even for a resort, even for California. But that isn't my biggest issue. I was kind of irritated that when I asked the bartender about a couple of their beers, she had no knowledge about them. Asked if something was an "IPA" or similar and she said that she didn't know, it was just the name of the beer. The soup, SOUP... is $15. Oh, and I hope you get a chef's kiss grilled cheese or hot dog for your children with these prices. No thanks.

The staff is great, friendly and attentive and give them cudos for what they have to work with. The taco menu was a surprisingly let down. The tortillas were not fresh at all and a bit like rubber.

Should be a Zero. Food is so bad you are better off going to a gas station and getting food or just go to bed hungry.Food/Service - after a long day of sight seeing, the family and I just wanted to grab food and head to our room. Wait time (to place an order) was long but understandable as there was only one person working (out of her control). Ordered the most basic food in history…. Nuggets, fries, hot dog, and chocolate cake. How you mess that up no idea, but I should have known when everything came out in 3 minutes. Cold, hard, and just nasty. How the heck do you mess up chocolate “lava” cake? I didn’t check the food (my fault) after receiving it since we just wanted to get to our room.Atmosphere is cool, because you are next to the pools and close to the marina.Overall - steer clear of this place at all costs.

One bartender, no staff--incredibly ridiculous waits considering it's $400+/night hotel. We walked in to get the free kids drink, they told us about at check-in. It's 5:30pm, there are 6 people at the bar, one guy trying to get a drink made, another waiting to pick-up food order to go.Bartender was spinning like tumbleweed in tornado. There were at least 40 open tickets stacked up on the back bar...we patiently waited for 15 mins for these (2) transactions and were then told they're changing out the sprite, can we come back in 10 mins? And wait another 15-20 mins...no thanks.Understaffed and undertrained personnel, I was embarrassed for whomever manages this section.

Mistakes happen. I get it. But at least apologize, is that so hard? instead the server showed how inconvenienced she was at even the idea of rectifying her mistake.I ordered a 12 oz raspberry daiquiri but after a few sips I realized they gave me a virgin. It wasn't bad so I kept drinking when perhaps I should've complained sooner. instead 1/3 of the way through I let them know and requested to be refunded the difference ($8). The barista was gracious in offering to make me a real daiquiri but I declined. And the server made it clear what an inconvenience it would be for her to open the order again yada yada to do the refund. Sigh...

Paid $500/night and house keeping didn’t even bother to give us new towels, replace the water and coffee or make the beds up while we were out for the day. Tried calling the front desk twice. No answer. In addition, we had to pay $19.99 to watch one on-demand movie. I would not recommend this hotel.

Great place to stay located next to Belmont park and quick walk to the beach. Needs more places to eat on property but other than that no complaints. The only place to eat is red marlin and it’s super expensive and not very good

Hyatt Recency is a great choice. The rooms, the restaurants, the Staff and the whole experience was excellent. The pool experience was a joy. My Grandson had so much fun on the slides. Frank at the Red Marlin Restaurant is top notch and made you feel like you were the only one dining, and the choices you were making were the best. The food was great and everyone was pleased. Well worth your time to book your trip and stay here. Very close to Sea World if that is your destination.

This hotel was over packed and the amenities are clearly outdated. The hotel is called The Hyatt Resort and Spa - however the spa is not connected with the hotel, doesn't charge to your room or take gift cards. It was a surprise that I was not expecting.

Great location with beach and marina access. Lovely room with beautiful view. Pool was perfect for kids to enjoy after adventuring during the day. Hotel staff was friendly and accomodating, Phillip-concierge was extremely helpful with our plans. Highly recommend for family stay!
