Absolutely the best BBQ food! Generous portions. Take-out was ready quickly. Amazing onion rings. 😋 The staff were great.
The staff was great! but the BBQ left something to be desired. If you're just passing through SAN and hail from a state that is big on BBQ, then you may be better off passing.

Phil’s BBQ in San Diego disappoints. The ribs arrived lukewarm, burnt on the edges, lacking any real tenderness. Their BBQ sauce tasted more like straight hot sauce, missing the sweet, smoky balance. Sides didn’t help either—the beans were overly sweet, almost candy-like.
