Good pho but the only downside is that they only make their steak rare while the rest of the meat is well-done which makes the tendon too chewy. They say they could make all the meat rare whenever I asked but I still get served only the steak as rare in spite of them agreeing to my request. This doesn’t change the fact that their food quality is very good and the old man there is sweet and polite.

I had stopped coming to Pho Anh & Grill for many reasons. Since Covid days, there was not much of a choice and currently, there are no other Vietnamese restaurants in Imperial Beach area. Pho Anh is just a mile down from my home. The food is mediocre, definitely not top shelf. It doesn’t rank high on savor, seasonings, and quality. Don’t get me wrong, the place is not terrible, it does its job. However, if your desperate and don’t feel like driving further out into other areas of San Diego: Chula vista (Broadway 4 miles) or National City (plaza blvd 8miles) or City Heights (El Cajon blvd 12 miles), Kearny Mesa (Linda vista road 16 miles), or Mira Mesa (Mira Mesa blvd 23 miles), then you will never know what you’re missing. Besides better seatings and service, you will never know what other Vietnamese restaurants out there have to offer and more. Why glorify a place if you have nothing else to compare it to.

Trust me, my family, my friends and I, have eaten at Pho Anh mulitiple times (more than I can count) until other Vietnamese restaurants have been discovered. Our taste buds are worth it.

I recommend you give others a try. Who knows, your rating on Pho Anh may differ later.

Side note, my in-laws are Vietnamese

As an American, there's little I can say about this. However my fiance flew from Vietnam and has been in the states for less than a month and this is her favorite restaurant. I think that's the highest praise that I can give.

The egg rolls were good but I did not like the pho. I got chicken pho and it tasted a lot like meet broth. The noodles were way too mushy once in the soup. The hoison sauce tasted a bit weird too. Overall I didn't like it. Wish I would of enjoyed it especially since I'm sick. I normally get pho soups when I'm sick and I'm very satisfied but not this time.

The food is good but the customer service could use some help. This place is pretty hidden so I hope they are doing well. It’s the only phở near me I will overlook the attitude…for now.I recommend the egg rolls! This place is great now that only the older folks are working there. The young people were very rude. But now it’s my favorite place for lunch I can run in and have some phở in and out in less than an hour! The phở broth is DELICIOUS ? ? I can’t wait to go back there.

Was craving pho and got meatball pho to go—it was so good! The pho broth was clear, tasty, and nice big portion with all the fixings. Enjoyed it so much came back for another order the next day. I also tried the shrimp fresh roll and these were also delicious. New favorite spot for sure.

This is a great homestyle pho place, I believe it's a family who has been running this establishment for a while and the food has always been great at a very affordable price range. I come here about every 2 weeks when I need something that feels homestyle but with little to no wait.

Been going here for nine years. I’ve tried MANY places in San Diego and no place has compared to here. The broth is the right way I like it. Light, flavorful. I love to get my meat raw on the side, they slice it thin enough to cook and thick enough to enjoy. The spring rolls are HUGE! They serve portion sizes, please keep that in mind. I know a lot of San Diegans are used to Texas-like portioning. The service here is very great. Two young men were working up front today and they were super friendly. I’ve encountered younger females up front maybe half a year ago, not the friendliest but not hostile. I love it here. My favorite.
