Good pho but the only downside is that they only make their steak rare while the rest of the meat is well-done which makes the tendon too chewy. They say they could make all the meat rare whenever I asked but I still get served only the steak as rare in spite of them agreeing to my request. This doesn’t change the fact that their food quality is very good and the old man there is sweet and polite.
I had stopped coming to Pho Anh & Grill for many reasons. Since Covid days, there was not much of a choice and currently, there are no other Vietnamese restaurants in Imperial Beach area. Pho Anh is just a mile down from my home. The food is mediocre, definitely not top shelf. It doesn’t rank high on savor, seasonings, and quality. As an American, there's little I can say about this. However my fiance flew from Vietnam and has been in the states for less than a month and this is her favorite restaurant. I think that's the highest praise that I can give.
