My friend found a fly in her soup! We were so grossed out and speechless. It's indoor, and it's January. We told the waitress, she just removed the bowl and didn't seem surprised.

This place is a hidden gem. The owner and chef are super sweet. Not only is their food excellent, but they have the best vegan pho in town hands down! Try it out!!

First, the name of the restaurant is misleading. Hanoi means north and expected some northern style menu items. Nope - all basics - only pho and bun (vermicelli noodles). Not even any rice dishes. Walking in, it looks like a typical small sit down restaurant. But it's not. You have to go up to the cashier and order/pay first, including tip?? FYI- if you come here even after reading my review, don't tip them (or tip very little) because almost everything is self serve. You have to also get your own water, utensils, and condiments. And if you buy a drink (soda cans), you have to retrieve the soda by yourself from the fridge. I probably wouldn't care so much if the food was extraordinary and/or pricing was good. Nope. The special bowl of pho is $16 and it had very little meat and tendons in it. Looked pathetic, especially since we are from LA/OC area. My vermicelli noodles with pork and egg rolls was average. The egg rolls were basically all veggies. No meat or shrimp as expected. Taste was at least average (hence the extra star). For 5 ppl, bill was $100 (added on soda and one coffee). I didn't know and gave tip. Ugh.

Visiting from the Bay Area where Phi Ha Noi is the benchmark for good pho. This location in San Diego pales in comparison. The ambiance is 1 start. Service is also one star. For drinks I ordered coconut water, came in a can brand parrot. I tipped 15% but tip is not recommended. First I had to go to the counter to order. Egg roll says pork and shrimp but when asked they admitted no shrimp. I ordered the special pho. Came out with very little veggies compare to other locations, and luke warm with few tendons and tripe. They drop the bowl off, I have no silver wear. Actually I needed to get up and get my own silver wear. And chilling sauce and And brown bean sauce. If you are going to come here, no need to give tip. They don't take your order, don't bring you silver wear, don't bring you a glass of water ... there is no service here.Maybe good for take out. Thr pho was ok though maybe the other items on the menu is tastier.

I got the vermicelli bowl w/ beef and egg roll and it was really tasty. Very prompt and friendly service. Parking is always full, that's the only downside.

It is overpriced. Barely no service. Tips are not shown on receipt. I don’t know how they even want to show tips option.

This place is probably the only the place in the plaza I find myself coming back constantly from time to time. The workers are always helpful and welcoming despite some setbacks. The unassuming hole in the wall vibe in the outside quickly disappears when you come inside to order or pick-up. The vibe and service really make you feel like part of the family. I only had their food for take-out but I always found their food holds up well with travel and taste amazing. I especially like their shrimp pho and their house special chow mein which is really great for its value. I had their combination pho before but I think it would've been better to have while eating in versus takeout. I will keep coming back and keep recommending this place to others in the area to try it out.

The restaurant used plastic bowl for hot Pho is not a good idea and could be bad for our health due to the possible melting of the plastic bowls.

I haven't been here since Covid started. This was my go-to Pho spot before. I didn't realize they had closed and just reopend within a year. I came back today and the quality of Pho is still on point. I'm happy to start coming back here again for future Pho cravings.

I order this restaurant for lunch at work and they are hands down the best! Their packaging is great for pho, and the staff is really nice. The pho itself is everything you want for pho. Highly recommend!Dietary restrictions: Able to accommodate vegans.

How does this place have 4 stars? Small and over priced pho portions. Flavor was a 3/5. Service 3/5. Said tap water was no good there so we couldn't just get a glass of water and had to buy bottled drinks. Tap water is bad? Get a filtration system for your clientele! Had to pay and tip before hand.. just a poor experience all around. I just don't see how they can justify these kinds of prices with the facilities, experience and services they provide. Total for 2 small pho and 2 coconut drinks - almost $50
