On the day of my reservation, I contacted the restaurant to confirm my special birthday request. The staff assured me that they would have the special menus with the birthday person's name ready. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, they presented us with regular menus and informed us that they no longer offered special menus. Additionally, the complimentary cake was not brought to the table until I went to the back and inquired about it. Despite these inconveniences, the food tasted okay, nothing extraordinary.

This is a very good Italian restaurant with excellent traditional Italian dishes with very good service and very elegant yet simple decor.Service is very fast with excellent manners.Wine selection is good but it could be improved.Missing wines are high end Barolos-the must in Italian restaurant.

We had lunch and ordered Risoto and Pasta with seafood. They were both very good. Lots of salmon in the risotto. We have been dining at Piatti since the day it opened and will continue as it is so reliable.

What a great restaurant! Everything we ordered was really delicious. From the Grilled Romain Salad to Vasuvio Pasta and Tiramisu… every bite was better than the last. Our waiter was excellent! We will surely return!

DO NOT GO HERE if you have to be anywhere on time after. The service, (though super sweet, Mieko was very polite and sweet) was wildly slow and bizarrely non responsive to multiple issues. Nothing written down which only works when things go perfect, but no specifications were remembered, no extra anchovies on mid AF caesar, wrong salads dropped, then when requested we keep for the sake of time (baratta liked great), was taken back and delay on the right dish, SLOWEST BAR EVER!! Even WINE! like had to ask TWICE about the WBTG order mid dinner (which could literally take less than a minute) and took 15 mins for two glasses! lol! "Risotto" special was the most disappointing risotto I've ever had that had been literally scalded into a soup. NOT arborio rice and shrimp were minuscule AFER SPECIFICALLY asking if they were sizable. And dropped without any ask of pepper or fresh parm?!? Like HOW is that risotto? AND THAT'S YOUR SPECIAL? My preteen god child makes a better risotto. The food and service is just NOT worth 100 per person for dinner. But ALL of this would be forgivable if there was just a simple acknowledgment from ANYONE other than a couple parrot apologies from what I belive is the well intentioned Mieko, and god bless her, maybe was just having an off day, but she just was NOT what I would call "ready for fine dining". Perhaps expo/runner but like overall yikes. And like NO management or lead acknowledgment of a 90 minute dinner that should've been 45? We were late to our show at the La Jolla playhouse which started at 7 and we got to the restaurant at 5:05 for a 5:15! loloolol All in all, not a one star, but BE WARNED! MID. A. F! Only go here if you legit don't GAF about good food, service or ambience. Also, I know I'm being brutal here but like the canister light intensity! Like ANYONE who works in dining KNOWS lighting is EASY. There are sconces and candles! You're already %90 of the way there! DIM THOSE CANS! lol #hopesandprayers

Nice place. Good food and good service. Good to go in the afternoon. Gets way too busy in the evenings. Must be prepared to arrive early as you'll need to look for parking on the street.

Love the warm olives. The salmon salad with lentils was perfect. They did not overcook the salmon as requested. It was cooked perfectly. It's nice to be able to get a very healthy delicious unique salad.

All the food is great and I have been coming here for 20 years. Piatti should now that the busser/helper names Ponches is AMAZING, Super Attentive and works really hard!!!

Posting offers a lovely dining experience with an attentive service staff. They prepared a spicy seafood pasta dish that was excellent. The spinach ravioli was very good. The portions were sufficient but there was none for taking home. Probably a more healthy portion size! We had three desserts which were a wonderful end to the meal. Pistol is Definitely one to keep in the rotation!
Perfect evening and ambience for my staff. We had impeccable service and the best meals. 10/10

The food is delicious and the staff were extremely accommodating. The place was really busy on a Wednesday night which made visiting at a table for six pretty challenging (we were inside at a nice round table). Definitely recommend the restaurant, but maybe more for a celebratory event or a smaller group...or with people you feel committed to be with but don't really want to talk to:)

The salad I ordered as my entree was totally blah. I don't know if it was the quality of the ingredients--tomatoes not being ripe, not enough feta, certainly not enough dressing. It was very disappointing.
