Wife and kids loved the pizza and garlic knots. I got a sandwich and wings which were very good. Nice place close to balboa park.

Tue pizza was some of the best I had. Only reason it wasn’t a 5 star is that it wasn’t the pizza I ordered.
Great local Pizza 🍕 and yes they have it by slice too! You can sit outside they have large picnic tables.

Usually get slices of pizza which are great! This time decided to do the chicken parm and eggplant parm sandwiches. Very disappointing. Chicken was super dry and tough. Eggplant was so minimal. There was one piece of eggplant to go on each half of the sandwich. It’s a pretty expensive sandwich for such minimal food. Just stick with the pizza.

The pizza under the glass is already done, then they chuck it in the oven to reheat it and then you get a dried out, semi burnt slice that’s scant of cheese.
Some Arrakis style pizza.
You guys can do better

Got a veggie (Michelangelo) pizza to go with jalepeños on half … $37.71! That’s almost $5 per slice!!!!! The comparable pizza at The Friendly (arguably a better pie with more toppings) is $24 — making Luigi’s TWELVE DOLLARS more expensive. Compared to what is arguably the best NY style in San Diego (The Bronx) with a loaded veggie pie at $30, Luigi’s is $8 more expensive. Went to the pickup to-go pie line, and was ignored for 10 min. Pizza was cold when I got it.
I love Luigi’s, it’s in the hood, and I’ve been coming here since 2011. But, I’m sorry , they are now price gouging IMO.
