I had high hopes for my visit based on the reviews, but unfortunately, I didn’t have a good experience. I wasn’t greeted when I walked in and began browsing the options on my own. Another customer came in after me and was warmly greeted and immediately offered assistance.
I approached someone at the counter to ask a few questions, but they informed me they couldn’t help because they were an intern. The other employee—who turned out to be the owner—began showing the other customer around and explaining the tea options. When the intern mentioned that I was looking for herbal teas, the owner simply pointed and said, “They’re mixed in.”
I was never assisted and left feeling very unwelcome.
I loved the variety of teas they have. Plenty of parking and the folks who work there, can guide you to the perfect tea that you will like.
Cozy, charming, and full of great tea options. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, and the vibe was calm and relaxing—perfect for a short break. We picked up a few unique blends to take home. Not a place for kids to run around, but still a pleasant stop for a calm moment.
I’m a newbie to tea. Walked in today to just look around and ended up buying something. Jasmine was great. Super knowledgeable on her loose leaf, and she helped me find something that fit my nightly tea time. The place is clean, organized, and welcoming. 10/10 recommend!
I love point loma tea, the quality is top tier, the owner is amazing, and her staff is as well. I love to go here for gifts, for myself and I am a life long customer. It is clean and sherry is well informed on herbs. As a tea lover don't miss out on a great shop with quality tea and be sure to check out the tea room, to have a tea party.
Me and my two friends went here for tea. It was amazing. There were so many little things for sale to make your tea experience at home better. There was a big wall of loose tea to buy. The owner was very helpful and kind. She made our tea for us. One of my friends who was chasing a chai masala from Denver said the one she got here was almost the same. The experience was so good, we stopped for another tea before we left the area. I definitely recommend.
This is my wife's favorite store in San Diego for tea. We stop in every few months during our visit to the city for a tea resupply.
I love this place! Everyone is so knowledgeable and friendly. And their tea is yummy!
do yourself a favor - stop here for some tea to and from the airport - you can thank me later!
This shop is the perfect definition of a tea shop. It feels so warm and cozy with infinite amount of tea and tea apparel products to shops for with an incredible menu and options for so many drinks with an amazing staff that is so knowledgeable on all things tea. Incredible shop, incredible experience, incredible tea!

This is one of the go-to spots for herbs. Like a true apothecary they had what we came for to heal the fam. The only thing I was not crazy about was that the minimum they will sell is 1 oz.
But we left with what we needed and the service was great.
Traffic on the weekend in and out is terrifying- just fyi.
We had a very beautiful experience doing their afternoon tea time!! We had tried a few different teas that were just so delicious!!
We had the Lavender Macron, Bon Bon, and Rose Berries tea and all were amazing, the staff was very kind and informative on the process and which teas were their favorites.
Our hostess Marissa was very sweet and attentive to our tea experience!! She explained all the food that came out and we felt as though we could have anything changed or modified as we needed, but it was such a perfect and smooth experience we didn’t need to change anything!!
The food was very good and the perfect amount!! We had another hostess but unfortunately we didn’t catch her name, however she was very lovely and gave us great info on what teas would pair nicely with the savories and the sweets and she was more than right with the teas we received!!
We were fortunate to have the room to ourselves and it was a very intimate valentines celebration!!
Overall, it was an amazing experience to have and we will be coming back!!
The ladies here took care of my needs. We’re brewing the “Cream Earl Grey”, and the flavor is so rich and good quality. Bought samples. Will come back here. I love that there’s decaf variety.
Point Loma Tea is a great place to visit for all your Tea needs. The variety is amazing. The quality of Tea is one of the highest quantity I have had. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure you you get the best service and the items you want. I highly encourage you to come on down to the store and check it out. You will not be disappointed.
I source a lot of high quality loose leaf tea in San Diego and elsewhere and I will say I’m not a big fan of this place. There’s nothing worth a trip, the quality compared to the price I usually get at other nice tea emporiums is lacking. I found the price per ounce compared to the grade of loose leaf to be high at least as far as the herbals and roobos I purchased. The rooibos was too small of a size so even a high end strainer isn’t sufficient to ensure a smooth cup. (And I am aware rooibos is fine but this was even more so than typical) 2/4 of the herbals I bought and brewed were stale. It was evident that aroma and flavor were dull. I’m guessing those two blends aren’t popular and so aren’t rotated often. The staff is very curt until they have your credit card in hand. When I asked what was in a house made herbal blend they explained to me the ingredients rapid fire and then informed me what sultanas were without asking with a tone like I was a chore even though I didn’t ask and was perfectly aware of that prior. Waste of a hundred dollars and it’s a shame because I love tea. Also most of their tea making products are resold at much higher prices than their original vendors MSRP and can be readily found elsewhere. San Diego has many wonderful options for loose leaf tea of higher quality at a lower price with kinder customer service elsewhere so skip this location. Another customer came in inquiring about something he had just purchased and the staff pressured him to keep his purchase which he was clearly distressed about and I agree that the pricing setup isn’t very transparent for people especially for those who are not used to purchasing loose leaf
